Entering with the intent to marry and immigrate is not "entering legally"

Be sure to hand your AOS application to the Immigration officer at the POE.

People like you are the reason the process of legal immigration is so difficult.

Wow....got those claws out, huh?

The service centre you called probably couldn't understand you either.

Yes AOS within the country is legal. Coming to the country on a tourist visa planning to get married and stay is not.

If you know you are coming and getting married just apply for the right visa - not a tourist one. Go through the process, no biggy.

Operator is right - what you are intending to do is illegal regardless of what you think or heard.

Yep - coming here on a tourist visa with the intent to marry and not leave, is visa fraud. If what you were saying was true, there would be no need for a Fiance K1 visa for most countries. Everyone would just get a tourist visa or VWP and marry when they got here.

Sorry, but you DO need our opinion. Entering this country, on a tourist visa, with the INTENT to marry and adjust status is immigration/visa fraud. Period. Yes, you can marry. Yes you can try to adjust status. But when your interview comes and the questions can be hard, and something is said that arouses suspicion, you can and will be denied. Then you can be in a world of hurt. Understand? Have your fiancee sponsor you with a K1 visa and do it the right way.

Yes, that's fraud. You can't use a non-immigrant visa to migrate. So if you marry and adjust status they may deny you and you may even have a ban for overstaying a tourist visa. Do things right. Have yur fiance file a fiance visa and marry in the US once your immigrant visa is approved.

Don't ever do anything you're not willing to explain the paramedics.
