Hi, another silly question from me, but oh well :-D

Does every field office conduct citizenship tests and Oaths, how do I find out if my local field office does it? I am doing the expedited citizenship and the instructions say I need to request what office to go to, but I don't know if my the office closest to my MIL does citizenship. If it doesn't I am guessing I will just do the VA office. Also does my husband have to go with me to do the test, we are overseas and it will be expensive for us all to fly back again and thats one expense I would like to do without.

Thanks in advance for any help :-)

Hi,

I'm not sure but perhaps this link from USCIS site can help you to find that info. Go the bottom of the page and look for your field office.

Processing times: Field Office / Service Center

Good luck :)

Oh, I read again your post and it seems that you are a military spouse living overseas, if so then I think your interview might be conducted in a military base, an overseas USCIS field office, or an American Embassy/Consulate. Perhaps others in your same boat can clarify it better.

Has information if you are a spouse of a military person.

Another choice you may have is to use your USA permanent address, then go to

https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=offices.type&OfficeLocator.office_type=LO

to locate your field office.

Yes, citizenship is accomplished at the field office level. But if in the military, would check with your JAG office. Not sure how much things have changed since I was in, but JAG fees were very reasonable, like free. And yes, money was always a problem, or lack of it, unless you were a general.
