Hello dear VJ, I am going to visit my fiance in less then a month. Im so excited and want to be sure I bring the correct paperwork. I know what I need for normal over seas travel, but now that I have sent out his K-1 petition, I just want to be sure.. the only thing I need is the letter from USCIS stating that they have recieved it, right?? Do I just show this to the customs people at the airport when i get there?? I remember reading somewhere that it is very important they know I have started this paperwork. thank you in advance for any answers you give me. :D

You don't need to show customs anything. You will waiti next for your NOA2. Just remember to still take a lot of pictures, keep airline tickets boarding passes, hotel receipts and photocopy your passport with entry stamps. This is additional information you can send to him before you eventuakky have his interview scheduled at the Embassy. You should also be proving call history and webcams screenshots if you are able, It will provide strong support for prooof of relationship. Good luck.

Ohhh ok, thank you, i thought for some reason I had to show them the paper from USCIS. I will be taking a lot of pics this trip, more then the first one, i have already started printing out old conversations and e-mails to bring with me so I won't have to send so much to him.

If I understand correctly, when you get your visa from the US embassy after your interview, you will also receive a package that is only to be opened by USCIS upon arrival in the US. That package and your passort and K1 visa are what you need to enter the US.

Hi

I hope you have a wonderful trip!!!

I too am blessed to be going back again this month!! :star:

PHOTOS everywhere of you two together and with his family.

When you get there...I never showed their custom officers anything but my passport and answered a few simple questions. Never heard of their government interested in our petition.

God bless

You're asking about Moroccan customs, right? You'd need an answer from someone who's visited Morocco with a pending K1 not someone from Phillipines. I can't understand why the Moroccan authorities would want to see that but of course it's possible. Hope you get the answer you need.

I am not from the Philippines, my fiancee is and it really doesn't matter where you are from. Customs is customs and doesn't care about a petition. They will only ask questions like what is the nature of your visit, how long will you be staying, etc.... And then stamp your passport. If the country requires a VISA or visiting then you have to apply for one and receive it before you depart your country for or visit. I've traveled enough internationally so I know what I am talking about.

I will def be taking alot of pics, lol I want more pics with his family, i do have some, but not alot of Imad and I together with them. I just wasn't sure if I had to bring the NOA1 with me. Just for safety, I will bring it anyway, that way, Imad can make copies of it anyway. :D

Agreed - US Customs operates pretty much the same everywhere :)

I have been to Morocco 5 times they never asked me for any visa supporting documents in reference to my visit. I simply listed I was there to visit my fiance, then later as my husband and gave his address and phone number it was never an issue. I am not sure they even know the process of a US visa process, perhaps they know there visa process but they never asked anything further. They did ask every time, "what do you do for a living?" They were always tickled to find out I was a field grade officer in the Army. Twice they saluted me, which I tried to hide since I was trying to keep a low profile. lol

Have a great time, wish I could jump in your bag to go visit. We have a bit over a year before we head back....

Enjoy your trip. I just left a week ago. I miss my hubby and his family. You just need to tell them you are visiting your fiance, and you may want to provide an address on the form you have to fill out.

I was in your EXACT situation last summmer - fiance visa in process and I went to visit him (for 2 months.) And you certainly DO NOT need to show them ANYTHING about your fiance visa. Frankly, I didn't even mention my fiance. I gave them his family's home address and simply said I was a tourist, which was true. All customs needs to know is that you are there on vacation. My (now)husband lived in Marrakech with some roommates, so we always stayed with his family, or we rented apartments. And since you've been before I'm guessing you know the laws about "unmarrieds" staying together. I was always a little concerned about our "marital status" (or lack thereof) and didn't want to draw any additional attention. Maybe I tend to the paranoid side but personally I wouldn't give the "authorities" any reason to notice you beyond being a normal tourist. But it sounds like others have mentioned visiting their fiance and had no problems, so its up to you. Have a wonderful time!

WAHAHAHAHAHAAAAA, that is funny though, but atleast they were showing you respect, lol, very sweet really.

I'm trying to remember if i told them i was visiting as a tourist or visiting my fiance, lol. Either way, i did give his address, as i was staying with him and his family. so i will give same address as last year.
