Hi everyone,

So.. here is the question..

my husband just moved here on a k-1 fiance visa from australia, and we got married right away. we are working on the adjustment of status paperwork now, and I am not really clear on this I-693 medical stuff... he had all his medical exams etc done in australia as part of the k-1 process, but never received this i-693 form from anyone, apparently it is off in USCIS land somewhere.

I have read it is not necessary to have this form if all the medical exam stuff is already done, which it is, but then i'm reading that if we don't include the form that we will get an RFE. I can certainly print a blank i-693 and fill in what we can with his name etc, but we dont need to go through the medical exam again, so should we just leave it out? Or maybe attach a note to it stating that this was already done in australia, but we never received a copy?

Anymore insight on this?

Thank you,

Jenn

AOS belongs in the AOS forums.

Moving to the correct forum.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

The exact same thing happened to us. My fiance had his complete medical in Chile, and then when it was time to file for AOS, we realized we had no papers from the doctor to really prove it because it all got sealed up and sent away... in immigration office land, as you said. From reading a bunch of stuff, I figured out that what you're supposed to do is go to a civil surgeon with any vaccination records that you have so that they can fill in the vaccination supplement (the last page of the I-693). You fill in part one with your personal info, and then the doctor fills in the vaccination suppplement, but you do not have to repeat the xrays or blood tests or anything. The vaccination supplement cost us $35.00 here in Wisconsin. Kind of a bummer when we thought all of his medical stuff was taken care of, but oh well. We are still waiting for the results of the AOS, but I'm hoping we did it right. If you read all the instructions of the I-693, which you can get from the USCIS website under "forms," it explains the procedures for what to do if you do not have the DS3025 from the doctor in your home country.

Hope this helps!!

Hello,

Same with my case. Did not receive any copy of my medical results. I called the clinic yesterday asking for a copy, but they said they cant give me a record and that i do not need any vaccine. Hope everything will be just fine with The AOS stuff. Goodluck to us.

The I-693 was NOT done for the K1. That's a medical form for here in the US. The K1 medical forms are different... such as DS-3025 (immunisations), DS-3024 and so on. He SHOULD have been given a copy of his DS-3025 (shot list) when he did the medical. An I-693 is not required if he received all his shots at the K1 medical.

Thank you everyone,

Yeah, I think my husband did get the ds-3025, but he thinks he threw it out.. BOYS!!!! Ugh.. so, I will just be crossing my fingers that the POE forms get to meet up with the 485 paperwork, since he doesn't need any additional immunizations anyway. I just keep reading that the USCIS likes to lose these forms on their end, so it would be a good idea to send it in myself.. we will cross our fingers for now, and if we get an RFE, we will scramble to contact his doctor is Australia to get the proper documenation. It is just that is it a hassle for what may be nothing.

Thank you!!
