Hello fellow VJers. My fiancee and I got word that our P4 was logged on Wednesday and we can schedule her interview. Now of course there are no available inteview times in Montreal. Anyone have any insight into when they will be posting more? Does it happen once a month, twice a month? Any input would be fantastic. Thanks.

Nope there is no insight on this. No one knows when they post them no one knows when they open them. Its all random.

Its completely random and they only open them in small batches. You just have to check the website every hour to make sure you don't miss it.

There were people who waited 4 + months and then even missed out on the open interviews because they couldn't get to a computer.

There are quite a few people waiting for interviews right now.

Unfortunately, there are many of us waiting. :( The last time I saw some available dates were Feb. 10th and 11th. I wasn’t able to book one because my packet 4 was not logged in until the 17th. Just keep trying as I’m sure we will all get one soon!

We've been checking too, around the 10th or so it said next avialable appointment in 37 days. Its too bad we couldn't have booked then since the p4's were logged a few days later.(Well yours was, ours was logged on Feb 29th) All we can do is keep checking and try not to go crazy! When we called DOS to confirm our p4 was sent the rep we spoke to said that Montreal releases dates every month and there should be some soon. Heres hoping she is right!

When appointmments finally opened in October, they were available for quite a while... they opened from beginning of November into January. There was lots of shuffling. I grabbed the first one, Nov. 22, (i was elated) then next morning hearing there were earlier ones, went back in and got november 2nd! It's like the stock market opens!

Believe me when they open and you get one (and it will and you will) you will just be so happy. It will happen!! Unbelieveable we have to do it this way, but we do!:luv:

Anyone know why the DOS doesn't schedule K-1 interviews automatically like it does CR-1/IR-1 interviews? Just curious.

Maybe it's because they're technically non-immigrant visas? Just a guess.

It used to work like that. I went through the interview process in spring of 2009 and they automatically booked interviews back then. Shortly after there was a big problem with a major backlog in Montreal. Some people waited months and months before getting their dates. I mean 4+ months. The new system was supposed to make things faster and more efficent. Back then, it was a nightmare if you had to change your date... you got put at the back of the line, and it took forever. The new system may be flawed, but it seems a little better.
