I assume they mean work visas all though they seem to tar visa with the same brush. Part of the criteria for work visas are that the company cannot fill the position with an American so the people who hold work visas usually have some specific experience or degree. PLUS they cannot stay on a work visa forever, there are limits to the time they can work over here.

What about all of those other legals? K1's etc. This type of hate propaganda is awful and deliberately vague for shock value. How about campaigning for more jobs to be created within the US or better still, retrieving the jobs that started in the US and are now done in other countries so the company makes more profit.

Things like this make me so mad.

If you check out their web sight, www.fairus.org they paint all immigrants with the same brush. They want 'reform' that doesn't include any kind of immigration at all.

I think I'm going to be sick.

i love how these people dont even think of the consequences. they want to limit the number of totak immigrants to 300k/ year and only spouces and children...well i hope they realize how many actual us citizens that work for the varous immigration departmens consulates etc would be out of a freaking job.

bunch of numbnuts....

also the people doing immigration the legal way are not the morons leaching off the governement...god i am so mad at this dumba$$ website now lol.

Regardless immigration to any country is a privledge NOT a right. I completely agree with Kimbear that immigration employees thousands of workers in the US and around the world.

Ignorance unfortunately is bliss!!

Really? Kind of of funny coming from a country whose population is mostly from immigration. Besides Native Americans basically every single American has some kind of foreign heritage. Blaming foreigners for local problems is unfortunately nothing new. And I agree with Kimbear, those doing the legal process are not the ones leeching off the system.

Used to drive past a no amnesty and no immigration sign every day. It was a huge billboard right outside the main gate for our AF base here. They finally took it down just recently but its been there for almost 3 years since my moving here.

Why use a lawyer???? Huge waste of $$$$$$. I know we used one and she was good, but not worth the $$$$$. They do not speed up the process. And watch when you cross the border. No its not illegal to get married in the USA, but the POE officer may think you have different intentions. best of luck

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

Lawyers are a waste of money and the immigration process itself is already expensive. Unless you have a complicated case with felonies or something they are unnecessary. They basically just fill out forms that you can fill out yourself and often are not familiar with the most up-to-date information and often have misinformed other VJers before. There's nothing they'll tell you that you can't find out for yourself on visa journey. Just ask the VJ members here who hired lawyers and then realized they spent a whole bunch of money for nothing :/

Edit: Also that video is horrible and saddening :( Personally, I LIKE it when people move to new places from all over the world because they bring something new and different and unique to offer that country. Homogenous societies stagnate!

Lawers waste of time and they add to the delay. and they screw up as mine did..he was promptly fired. its really easy to do it yourself with the guides and you can ask us questions..save yourself the time frustration and money.
