We just got our petition approved and is being forwarded to NVC. My wife is filling out the I-864 as well as her father who will be joint sponsor. My wife is unemployed at the moment. I know she will have to fill out a form regardless of having zero income. She lives with her father at the moment, will her father need to count my wife as a member of his household and vice versa?

From my understanding my wife and FIL will have to submit the same I-864 form?

From what I understand it depends on if he claimed her as a dependent on his last tax return. If she was a dependent then he needs to include her in his count on the form otherwise he just lists you and any other dependents he listed. Either way they will need to do 2 I-864's as she is sponsoring you as your spouse.

Hope that help

Best wishes to you both
