I know what you mean the not knowing is the wost. I wish I would get a letter no matter what the date is as I have to get another job the end of this month and if need be make arrangements for storage for my stuff and find a place to stay after Jan 1. I would be fine if the interview was in January if I just knew and had that piece of paper.

This is all so frustating. I just want to know when the interview will be. If I have to wait to have the interview, I wait...but not knowing is the hardest :(

I agree...I feel like a weight has been lifted just knowing a date. I do not understand why they cannot schedule appointments well into the future, surely they have access to a calendar!

One would think so, if not I will take one to them. Hell I am willing to fly to Vancouver if I can get a quicker appointment, ha ha. I know we all would do that in a heartbeat if we could. I know last friday they told my fiance that we are on a waiting list for an appointment and I don't get why they can't get them scheduled either, seems very odd to me.

It took our lawyer several calls to get a date, so you might want to give it a couple of tries if Bill is not sucessful today.

We sent the petition with a cover letter, asking for expedtion of our case due to age out and with a bright coloured frontpage with AGE OUT in big letters on it. Our AOS papers, which is where the real expidite is needed will be the same I suspect.

Sometimes VJ makes me happy. Other times I really wish I didn't read it. Talk about BullS*#%! At least some of you have children. I haven't seen my husband long enough to begin the children making process.

No offence personally to you, but a child's 21 birthday will allow you to have an expedited date????? Come on! I could write a 21 page essay on all the extremely important reasons why our date should be expedited! And I'm sure everyone else posting here has valid reasons as well.

All our lives are on hold. It is a financial, emotional, and physical strain on us all. Being a "newlywed" has been the worst experience ever.

Sorry if I'm speaking out of turn, but I THINK that the significance of the 21st birthday has something to do with the k-2 petition in the AOS portion of this process. I have no kids ... so if I'm wrong.. sorry again.

I understand that there are rules and regulations regarding if a child is under 21 or if a child is over 21. So yes, time is of the essence. God is blessing you by giving you an interview date!

HOWEVER. . . We are law-abiding people, we have filled out our forms, made copies, had medicals, got record checks, paid our fees, and are waiting in line, and cried every night because there is only so much you can tolerate during this process.

And it eats me alive when I go to the grocery store and I see all the illegal immigrants with every child, sibling, parent, whoever, together not speaking a single word of english, making a life for themselves in this country.

Dear hi121306,

Take the angst of not being with your husband and multiply it tenfold to understand what it would be like to have a child who could not come to you if they needed to, or who was denied entrance to the US because they are perceived a high risk of overstaying. That worries me more than waiting an extra month or so to get my visa. I can assure you that I did not pull a 21 year old out of a hat to expedite my processing. It is unfortunately a process in which fair does not come into play- is it fair that because we process through CSC we wait months more? No. Is it fair that we filed at the worst possible time and got mired in IMBRA. No. I understand your frustration, really I do, but please do not vent your frustrations about the entire process and the seperation of you and your husband at me. That is not fair either.

Please do not bring the problem of illegal immigrants into this discussion...this is an immigration board, and by definition all of us here are processing legally.

ljs, Congrats on the interview date. I'll be watching leafgal as she sent her info a few days ahead of my fiancee. I was a little discouraged for me(not for ljs) by seing your interview date. But like jersey girl said, ours is the beginning of September. I'll let you all know(in a new thread) what she hears.

The thing is, we were hoping for a December wedding. We'll have to decide something soon, because I have about ten days to put in my vacation for next year. I'd like t know one way or the other, for a date so we can at least plan some thngs.

I was wondering how long it was going to take before some one reacted to getting things expediated over a child turning 21. Can see both sides of the story. Best of luck to all

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied, that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1
