But when we turn to the Hebrew literature, we do not find such jokes about the donkey. Rather the animal is known for its strength and its loyalty to its master (Genesis 49:14; Numbers 22:30).

I first came to the US in 1996 as an exchange student. As soon as we left the airport, my host family took me to a restaurant and bought me a hamburger.

Does that count?

Since I arrived in LA at the end of an 18 hour+ day of plane travel, I checked into the hotel and SLEPT! When I arrived in Fort Lauderdale it was 2am so we went home and went to bed - to SLEEP mind you! Get your mind out of the gutter...

Actually the first thing we did was to call my parents and let them know I was here safely... THEN we slept.

Same for me. But I don't think this apllies to us!

ps: I didn't have to stay with a host family though! My father had his old buddy "bodyguard" pick me up at airport. Imagine what it's like to have a Vietnam veteran drive you around town :help: :help: (the scariest moment of my life) Lucky I didn't have a curfew!! I took a shower and went straight to bed (I was really exhausted).

Sometimes I think I know everything, and I regain consciousness. Seen it all, done it all, forgot most of it....
