Wooohooo! X 2! Just got an email from NVC confirming my designation as Agent and also the IV Bill enclosed in the attachment. Immediatelly went to the Portal and the IV Bill was generated and ready to be paid! Yeeeees! So the IV Bill has been paid and current Payment Status as "IN PROGRESS" but I was able to print out the Bar-coded Cover Sheet for the IV package! So Happy!:):D:P:yes:

Congrats! You are on a roll. You're almost at the finish line! However, I'm thinking about submitting the physical DS-3032 form via Fedex because today marks 1 week and 1 day since submitting via e-mail....

Looks good! Make sure only part 1 of the DS-230 is signed and dated. Part 2 is filled out, but not signed nor dated.

Make sure you check you're not missing any country-specific documents.

If no one is IMMIGRATING with the beneficiary, then the answers to 31 a and b are 'none'.

You start listing schools with high school, college, university, etc. No middle school or lower.

DS-230 #33.

1) So for Schools, do i put addresses or Name only?

2) Also most recent first?

Thank you Saylin!

Just received the following e-mail from NVC. It took them exactly one week from submission to accept the choice of agent form:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

We received the principal applicant's DS-3032 (Choice of Address and

Agent) form designating an address and agent. Instructions for paying

the immigrant visa application processing fee and all future

correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the

DS-3032.

This is what I put:

Vanier College (Montreal, Quebec) // 08-2007 // 05-2010 // Social Science // College Diploma

Gulf Coast High School (Naples, Florida) // 08-2005 // 05-2007 // Academic // Diploma

Rosemere High School (Rosemere, Quebec) // 08-2001 // 05-2005 // Academic // None

So, just put the school name and the location (city and then state/province) in brackets. And yes, most recent first.

Grats.

Remember, everyone, patience is a virtue. Just because it's taking longer than usual for something to happen (DS-3032 acceptance, invoicing of bills), does't mean you should re-send stuff or stress out about it. Time frames are always going up and down at NVC because the backlog is CONSTANTLY changing, especially when it comes to emails.

Which documents are you talking about specifically?

You order either online, by phone, or through one of their offices. Obviously, if you go in person to an office, you'll get them the same day right then and there. If you do it online or by phone, then they'll be mailed to you which can take anywhere from a few days to 2 weeks or so, depending where you live and how busy the IRS is. When my husband requested his 2010 tax transcripts last year in April, it took exactly one week to receive them.

I'd suggest getting the medical done while you're in London yes.gif

I'd love to add you to my spreadsheet, but it's only for NVC filers. Which is what this thread is for. This is the wrong place. You want to find the March USCIS filers thread. You can obviously stay and learn about the next step, but you can't track your progress here as you've got about a 5-month wait ahead of you.

And yes, that's the NOA1. Now, you just sit and wait. Around 4 months though or so, I'd suggest getting the AOS and IV packages ready to go and make sure you have all necessary documents.

No, those are the wrong transcripts. You need to get the tax RETURN transcripts. As for which income to use, it depends if you filed the 1040 or the 1040EZ. Please, re-read the question on the form again. It specifically states which one to use.

what do you mean they are not the right one? I called IRS and that is what they said I will need??? The document that i have is a one page document for each of the three years. Or do I need to fill out 4506T form to request them? It says I can just call IRS to request these forms, the forms I have say the following:

"

FORM NUMBER: 1040 Account Transcript

Tax Period xx

Information from the return or as adjusted

Exemptions

Filing Status

Adjusted Gross Income

Taxable Income....

So I just use the adjusted gross income??? What other form could there be??

There are two different tax transcripts: return and account. NVC (and the consulate/embassy) wants the return ones. Did they not come with the account ones? If not, re-request them, and make sure you specific return transcripts.

Please read the first paragraph here for the difference between return and account transcripts: http://www.irs.gov/efile/article/0,,id=232219,00.html

If no one is IMMIGRATING with the beneficiary, then the answers to 31 a and b are 'none'.

I have a question especifically about Question 31a which reads "Person(s) named in 14 and 29 who will accompany you to the United States now."

In my case (Petitioner), my name is in 14 because it says to list the Applicant's (My wife) Spouse Name (My name).

Now, 31a DOES NOT say "Person who will IMMIGRATE with you to the United States now" but rather "ACCOMPANY YOU" which leaves room for a lot of misinterpretation. Let say, I will traveling with my wife into the States the day she IMMIGRATES, that is, I will be ACCOMPANYING her.

So why would it be wrong with listing my name under 31a if that was the case? (I will be actually flying with/accompanying my wife from her home country to the US POE)

When I got my case complete I decided to take a week break from calling and try to relax a bit. I think it wasn't a bad idea, and the interview letter came as a surprise before the week break was over :)

At this point, calling daily is not gonna make anything go any faster but knowing the NVC operators from hell, it might very well drive you crazy!

Yeah, there doesn't seem to be any point at all in continuing to call. For that matter, I may as well wait for the interview email to come. Suddenly I feel pretty much the same way I did back in USCIS. Nothing to do but wait and lose (probably) another entire month. It would have been nice to spend our anniversary together... I can't say that looks too likely at the moment. :(:crying:

Jan2010 - First Trip, met in person

Jul2010 - Trip two!

You're welcome! And thanks :)

So why would it be wrong with listing my name under 31a if that was the case? (I will be actually flying with/accompanying my wife from her home country to the US POE)

Question 31 a and b refer to people immigrating with the beneficiary. Accompany in this case does not mean travelling with, but moving with, aka immigrating. Trust me.

If you put the petitioner's name, it's going to thoroughly confuse the reviewing officer as the petitioner in this case is living in the US. Why would someone living in the US immigrate to the US?

NVC does NOT care who travels with the beneficiary, just like they do NOT care what your port-of-entry will be. They just care about WHO is immigrating with the beneficiary.

To further prove my point, on the DS-260 (online version of the DS-230) that question is re-phrased to make it clearer: "Is your spouse immigrating to the US with you?" and "Is your spouse immigrating to the US at a later date to join you?" This question is basically only applicable in IR-5 cases (parent visa) when both parents are immigrating together. In IR-1/CR-1 cases, those two answers should be no/none.

Wow, that's a large image laughing.gif

But, yeah, where it says "account transcript" it should be "tax return transcript", and the rest of the form should look different.

I'm at school at the moment, but once I get home this afternoon, I'll take my husband's tax return transcript, blank out the info, and upload it to show you what it should look like.

Thanks but I have a problem with that item then, and I would like to ask for you advice to see what options I have to resolve my issue.

It happens that, that same page where 31a is located at (Part 1 of DS-230, page 2) is the same page where beneficiary (my wife) signs and she has actually just sent me that piece of paper with her signature via snail mail (last Monday) with my name on 31a.

Can she retype the form, sign it, scan it as a PDF, and send it to me via email, OR does that Page HAS TO HAVE her Original Signature on it?
