i think yer missing 3 masala recipes. Come on - these clerks want some spice, la !

But seriously - it looks ok, for a foreign spouse with no prior divorces.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

1) In DS-230, #31a & #31b

"Person(s) named in 14 and 29 who will accompany you to the United States now"

"Person(s) named in 14 and 29 who will accompany you to the United States at a later date"

- Since the petitioner's name is in #14, do we put the petitioner's name or leave it N/A? because the petitioner is USC so not immigrating.

2) In DS-230, #33

"List below all educational institutions attended."

- Is this asking for Middle school and High Schools also? we did put college info but wasn't if we need to include High School or Middle School etc...

I called NVC 4-5 times in the last few days about my daughter's case. Each time the operator said that your daughter didn't have an email, I told him/her to use mine. It sounded like that it was added. I wonder what system they are using.

It's still not clear to me whether they linked my wife's case with my daughter's case, I got a different answer each time. As of today, I was told that the computer shows they are linked together now. I don't know what to believe. How am I sure that they are linked?

My current situation is as follows:

wife got NVC number (GZO, as of Feb. 17), paid AOS bill and IV bill.

daughter got NVC number (GZO), paid AOS bill; but still waiting for IV bill.

It's pretty frustrating to say the least. It's almost a month after my wife got her NVC number. I got all AOS, DS230 forms ready to send. I don't want to chase on two different cases. Any ideas how to proceed?

Thanks

Jiang

You have to realize that when NVC receives your case, it sits on a flat surface until its turn to be input into the system comes. They probably receive hundreds of cases every day. They have to scan them all individually and assign a case a number at that time. It's not only postal delay. 2 weeks is actually not particularly long, it took 36 days for me (holiday season).

1. Your husband is not going to receive a green card in Japan, he will receive a visa in his passport. The visa should be valid for 6 months, so it doesn't matter where you travel first as long as he enters the US before the visa expires.

2. Well no. Otherwise, everybody would manage to get a 10-year card immediately, don't you think? They don't care how long you dated, they only care how long you were married.

Thanks. Still not encouraging to know how slow the system and the people there work. NVC guy, Nathan, told me to "just white-out and correct the mistake." What a lazy answer, certainly not the one I was looking for.

I meant Visa, not green card, sorry. In the back of my mind, I know green card will arrive much later in USA. As for 10-year card, just wishful thinking.

They are done scheduling for the month of April and we may be scheduled for the 2nd week of May. complete BS. I'm clueless right now, nothing I can do!!! although it is unfair, this is matching a timeline pattern I've been seeing for NVC case completions dates like ours:

- The month you've been approved (regardless what day) -> following full month is "a hole" -> Interview date: 1st or 2nd week of the following

Example:

CC in Jan -> nothing in Feb -> Interview in the 1st 2 weeks of March, and so on.

Edited by TangoBravo

USCIS
07/26/2011---- I-130 Sent
02/10/2012---- Approved
Your I-130 was approved in 196 days from your NOA1 date

NVC
02/13/2012---- NVC Received (3 days after NOA2 approval)
03/09/2012---- NVC Case Completed
NVC Journey 29 days

Interview
04/09/2012---- Interview assigned 17 MAY2012 (30 days after NVC CC)

04/11/2012---- Visa issued and Passport stamped received ( US Consulate Casablanca, Morocco)

POE

05/14/2012---YAY!!

......2 years - 90 days later....

ROC

02/15/2014--- standing by to send ROC packet.

02/25/2014--- ROC packer received.

Now preparing for the IV package.

What do you think of these? Am i missing anything? :innocent:

1) IV bar-coded Document Cover Sheet

2) Form DS-230

3) Two passport photos of the beneficiary with NVC case #, DOB, & Name on the back

4) Copy of beneficiary's passport biographic pages

5) Original Marriage Certificate

6) Copy of the Marriage Certificate

7) Original Birth Certificate of the beneficiary

8) Copy of the Birth Certificate of the beneficiary

9) Original Police Clearance Certificate of beneficiary

10) Copy of the Police Clearance Certificate of the beneficiary

Looks good! Make sure only part 1 of the DS-230 is signed and dated. Part 2 is filled out, but not signed nor dated.

Make sure you check you're not missing any country-specific documents.

If no one is IMMIGRATING with the beneficiary, then the answers to 31 a and b are 'none'.

You start listing schools with high school, college, university, etc. No middle school or lower.

So the AOS bill was generated and paid, and the DS-3032 has been re-sent. How long before I'd get a confirmation on the DS-3032? And approximately how long would it take before the IV bill is generated?

Please read the FAQ. And re-read it again and again.

Ooooh yeah...just called NVC and was informed my case is being entered into the system so they can't even tell me 10-20 days lol. Wonder if that means case number tonight? :)

Very good chance you could get your case number by the end of the day ;) Just call again later in the afternoon or evening. If you get it today, then my case number prediction was off. I predicted you'd get it tomorrow laughing.gif

LOL I'll keep you posted - want to see if you were right! :) Won't be calling again until about 5:30 PM my time, to give them time to enter my case AND to give me time to get home and relax a bit before a busy evening. That should be plenty of time to see what's up!
