That's depressing :(. I think I'm just going to wait for the e-mail rather than riding the NVC emotional roller coaster by calling each day.

When I got my case complete I decided to take a week break from calling and try to relax a bit. I think it wasn't a bad idea, and the interview letter came as a surprise before the week break was over :)

At this point, calling daily is not gonna make anything go any faster but knowing the NVC operators from hell, it might very well drive you crazy!

You can either send in the AOS or IV package first, doesn't matter which one. NVC will review whatever they receive. Or you can send them together. As long as NVC gets them, they don't care.

And as for who sends the IV package, again, up to you, either the petitioner or beneficiary. NVC will accept it either way.

If you don't have a tax transcript for 2011, that's fine. Just make sure you send ALL of the following: tax return (1040 and all schedules) and W2s.

talked to nvc and they said to send in 2010, 2009 and 2008 tax transcripts and not to worry about 2011 since it's not april 17th yet, which is their cut off, however they did say that you should send a tax transcript to your spouse for 2011 to bring to the interview

question: on the tax transcript, it says account transcript, is this correct? also, do we use the adjusted gross taxable income or the regular income (which is greater than the adjusted)??

Thanks!

hi guys its me again!!!!! lol my husband is doin the I-864, we wanted to know if he has to send the original documents??

Which documents are you talking about specifically?

thanks, and how do you get your tax transcripts? online? howlong does it take?

You order either online, by phone, or through one of their offices. Obviously, if you go in person to an office, you'll get them the same day right then and there. If you do it online or by phone, then they'll be mailed to you which can take anywhere from a few days to 2 weeks or so, depending where you live and how busy the IRS is. When my husband requested his 2010 tax transcripts last year in April, it took exactly one week to receive them.

NVC got my husband's birth certificate copy earlier this week. He called them today and they told us our case was complete and would be on its way to London. So glad that fannying around for a month and getting a checklist hasn't caused a delay - you could well be right Saylin. Now I need to look into getting my medical. I'm actually going down to London next week for a month...

I'd suggest getting the medical done while you're in London yes.gif

Hi Everyone,

Saylin - thanks so much for an informative post. Please add me to the spreadsheet.

I sent in my I-130 form that was recieved at USCIS on Monday 12th March, and then my husband USC residing with me in Australia, recieved this email (below) today. Pardon my ignorance, but is this my NOA1?

Dear Applicant/Petitioner:

Your USCIS application/petition has been received and routed to the California Service Center for processing. Within 7-10 days by standard mail you will receive your official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) with your Receipt Number WAC129*******. With the official Receipt Notice (Form I-797) you may visit www.uscis.gov where you can check the status of your application using My Case Status. We suggest you wait until you have received your Form I-797 before checking My Case Status.

This confirmation provides notification of the date USCIS received your application/petition. This notice does NOT grant any immigration status or benefit. You MAY NOT present this notice as evidence that you have been granted any immigration status or benefit. Further, this notice does NOT constitute evidence that your application remains pending with USCIS. The current status of your application/petition must be verified with USCIS.

PLEASE DO NOT REPLY TO THIS MESSAGE

Now do I just sit and wait for the NOA2?

Thanks

I'd love to add you to my spreadsheet, but it's only for NVC filers. Which is what this thread is for. This is the wrong place. You want to find the March USCIS filers thread. You can obviously stay and learn about the next step, but you can't track your progress here as you've got about a 5-month wait ahead of you.

And yes, that's the NOA1. Now, you just sit and wait. Around 4 months though or so, I'd suggest getting the AOS and IV packages ready to go and make sure you have all necessary documents.

talked to nvc and they said to send in 2010, 2009 and 2008 tax transcripts and not to worry about 2011 since it's not april 17th yet, which is their cut off, however they did say that you should send a tax transcript to your spouse for 2011 to bring to the interview

question: on the tax transcript, it says account transcript, is this correct? also, do we use the adjusted gross taxable income or the regular income (which is greater than the adjusted)??

Thanks!

No, those are the wrong transcripts. You need to get the tax RETURN transcripts. As for which income to use, it depends if you filed the 1040 or the 1040EZ. Please, re-read the question on the form again. It specifically states which one to use.

What is the difference in the TIMELINE between "Instruction Package, Packet 3, and Packet 4"?

Just want to know so I know when to enter the respective dates. Thanks!

Instruction package = DS-230/IV package instructions

Packet 3 = doesn't apply to IR-1/CR-1 applicants, this is received by K1 applicants, sort of a combination of AOS and IV packages

Packet 4 = interview letter
