I just received mine yesterday and it was sent on the 6th, so yours has not been processed yet. What the operator means by "not having received one" is that it doesn't show on his/her screen but it doesn't me they don't have. Remember that who answers these DS-3032s in the NVC Written Correspondence Unit which is a separate division.

Thanks for that info.

hey is a pay stub that shows year to date earning sufficient or does my joint sponsor need a letter? i have letters and pay stubs, but her boss is kind of a jerk, so i was hoping a pay stub showing her more than adequate income will suffice as proof along with three years of returns?

Being that both pay stubs and employment letters are optional, yes, it's okay to send the AOS package without an employment letter.

Please go back and re-read the first two posts. They have valuable information. Re-read it again and again until you know this process like the back of your hand.

Hi Saylin,

Thanks for posting all the wonderful information. And for other VJ veterans, hello, I posted earlier but it got lost somewhere. I received my NOA #2 hardcopy by 2/28/2012. I've been calling NVC everyday; as of yesterday, the file is in the office but still not inputed into the computer. I just sent a request for expedite service. After looking at many timelines....a few with the same NOA #2 and received by NVC date, they already received their NVC case number and IIN, paid and sent off their documents. What is going on? The only answer I've been getting is there are many petitions now which explains the delay, and I can't speak to a supervisor. It is pretty upsetting how it took 2 weeks from USCIS CA service center to NVC center in the east coast. At most, it should take 5 days.

I do have some questions about the green card, so forgive me for these innocuous questions. Oh, and I am living in Japan with my husband during this whole process, and moving back to USA when he receives his green card.

1. After receiving greencard, is it okay to travel around Asia for a week before going back to USA?

2. We've been married for less than 2 years..which we qualify for conditional status....is there any way around that so we can automatically receive 10 years instead? We went out for 10 years before deciding to get hitched.

Thank you everyone.

Gigi :help:

I already replied to you a few days ago about processing times. It's normal. Just keep calling once a day.

Your questions:

1. Like others have said, you're not getting a green card. You're getting a visa in the passport. Usually, it's valid for up to 6 months, so one week in Asia is more than fine. Most people take a week anyways after receiving their visa to tie up loose ends and get everything ready to move. I got my visa on a Friday and only went through POE the following Thursday.

2. You have to be married for two years or more to get a 10 year green card. Doesn't matter how long you've known each other or dated. Married is what counts. So, if you want a 10 year green card, then don't POE until after your 2 year wedding anniversary.

Just of curiosity. I got my DS-3032 accepted today but today when logging into the payment portal the section for IV Bill where the Aplicant Name goes, it doesn't have anything. That is, no information whatsoever has been input into that section. Is that Normal?

I meant to say DS-3032 accepted yesterday. Sorry! too early need some coffee this morning :P

Remember, the IV bill isn't invoiced automatically after the DS-3032 has been accepted. It takes a day or two. Just keep checking the payment portal today.

Hi People, Hi Saylin

As long as NVC has both email addresses, yes, it does! All correspondence is sent to both parties, except the AOS and IV invoices (if you get such an email, we never did cause we paid it right away laughing.gif ) which is just sent to the petitioner.

So I call NVC today about which returns to submit, my taxes were just filed but my joint sponsor's won't be done for a little while. NVC tells me that as long as they receive my submission of I-864 before April 17th, that sending the Tax Transcripts for 2010, 2009 and 2008 is sufficient for both myself and my sponsor, but they may request 2011. What should I do, rush and get the documents in ASAP in the next week or so, or wait to have my joint sponsor submit the 2011 returns so that I can send both our 1040s and W2's???

Also, if I have two part time jobs, is it sufficient to just send a letter and pay stubs from my primary? Or if I do that for one, I should do it for both? I just started the second part time as a waitress and since my income is not sufficient anyway and i have a joint sponsor who makes more than enough, does it really matter?

THANK YOU!!!!

So excited to get this done!!!

Like the operator said, tax deadline is only April 17th. If you submit the AOS package before the end of April, then 2008-2010 is sufficient. Make sure you get 2011 tax information for the interview though as it will be after April 17th and then it's required. So, just send in 2008-2010 (or simply just 2010) tax transcripts.

Being the pay stubs and an employment letter are optional, it's fine if you just send ones from your primary job.

Thanks, I was pretty sure but just checking. I'm paranoid again since the NVC operator told me that Asuncion schedules their own interviews. I e-mailed the CO (he's a friend of a friend...weird) and he said his secretary handles everything and she is out of the office until Monday . I can feel that April interview slipping out of my grasp...

I don't know the time frames for Paraguay, but it could still be possible to get an interview for April. Just keep calling NVC and DOS each day and inquiring.

So We will only get IV invoiced after our DS-3032 email has been accepted?

Is the acceptance of DS-3032 what triggers the IV being invoiced?
