LOL Funny, annoying, smart-alecky, yep - I'm a troublemaking instigator! Calling and calling and calling to get correct information is most likely not a bad thing!

I am trying to respond to a RFE checklist for IV and had same question about the cover sheet from the "Checklist Cover Letter". Saylin was suggesting me to include IV Document Coversheet from payment portal, instead of the one we are told not to send in the "Checklist Cover Letter".

I had to respond to an NVC checklist and I included the bar coded coversheet they sent me in the checklist email.

4 Q's:

1) Do we need to include "AOS Payment Receipt" in the AOS package?

2) How do you guys verify if NVC received AOS package or IV package?

just by tracking # from the shipping company?

or

call NVC if they have received it?

3) After NVC has received it, Do we call them and ask them about the Status of the AOS or IV package, if it has been received and accepted?

4) By accepted, do you mean, no Checklist? moving onto case completion?

1. No, the receipt isn't needed. If it was, I would have included it in the list on the FAQ and it'd be mentioned in the guides.

2. Use your tracking number to see when NVC received it. But the operators can't confirm NVC received it until they start reviewing the package.

3. Yes, call call call. Ask them if there's any update on your case (aka, has a package been reviewed).

4. Accepted means nothing is missing. When both are accepted, the case is complete.

Just got an E-mail from NVC (Subject line: Checklist Cover Letter) asking for my AOS and IV fees.... yes yes, I know. They'll be done soon NVC I'm assuming I don't have to really respond to this in any way as it provided no instructions besides "Give your money to us."

Also a note for Saylin: I've seen this in a couple correspondences now from NVC. This was on the cover letter they provided in the Checklist e-mail mentioned above.

"Do Not use this cover sheet if you are submitting forms and/or

supporting documents by e-mail (Electronic Processing).

Instead, type your NVC case number in the subject line of the

e-mail message. Follow the directions on

www.immigrantvisas.state.gov to correctly scan and submit

forms and documents."

Should your electronic processing guide be adjusted to reflect that, as your instructions said to put the bar-coded sheets on the first page of our .PDFs. IMO it seems safer to have the bar code on there just because, but this message is pretty clear. Hmmmm.

I'll add this as a note in the wiki, thank you. I just went over all the emails I got from NVC (I have every single one, even the auto-responses ) and none of them mentioned what you just posted. Regardless, I'd probably still attach the bar-coded cover sheet. Can't hurt.

1) Hey guys how do I know IV invoice bill is ready for payment?

Will i get an email from NVC stating iV invoice bill is ready for payment? or do i check Payment Portal frequently to see if this is available?

You'll know it's available when you can click on the IV bill and pay it Should say "not paid" instead of "not invoiced".

Today my wife and I received (2) emails from NVC, PAOSF-I-130 and ACL

I read Page 1 herethe say's "When can I email the DS-3032"? "Right after you get your case number." So my wife and I made the Email template from the shortcut here on Vjand emailed it to NVC from my wife's email account on Thursday March 8th. NVC never responded to the DS-3032 Email.

Well today the $88 AOS Bill generated and I paid it and printed out the Document cover sheet. I called NVC and asked the Operator

ME: "Have you received the DS-3032 Email from my wife's account"?

Operator: "No, did she fill-out the form, sign it and Emailed it back as a document"?

ME: "No, She Emailed but, not as a word document"!

Operator: "She needs to fill-out the form, Sign the document, scan it and then Email it and an attachment"!

ME: "Ok, Thanks"!

In (2) more days the bill will show as paid, at that pint should I just send the AOS package to the NVC without a DS-3032 responses? or do as the operator say's and spend more time having my wife fill-out this form, sign,scan and Email?

Don't listen to the operator. They're behind and don't know VJ members' tricks

Just wait until they reply to your first email. No need to re-send it.

Hum that is great. It is been a long time since i posted something here. My joint sponsor finally got her employment letter now she is waiting for her tax transcripts from IRS. there is an update with my wife pregnancy, she gonna change the doctor and get another one. If an expedite is requested at this stage to NVC ( only AOS is missing ) under high risk pregnancy will NVC just forward the case to the embassy and schedule us a fast interview?

hey is a pay stub that shows year to date earning sufficient or does my joint sponsor need a letter? i have letters and pay stubs, but her boss is kind of a jerk, so i was hoping a pay stub showing her more than adequate income will suffice as proof along with three years of returns?

Thanks for posting all the wonderful information. And for other VJ veterans, hello, I posted earlier but it got lost somewhere. I received my NOA #2 hardcopy by 2/28/2012. I've been calling NVC everyday; as of yesterday, the file is in the office but still not inputed into the computer. I just sent a request for expedite service. After looking at many timelines....a few with the same NOA #2 and received by NVC date, they already received their NVC case number and IIN, paid and sent off their documents. What is going on? The only answer I've been getting is there are many petitions now which explains the delay, and I can't speak to a supervisor. It is pretty upsetting how it took 2 weeks from USCIS CA service center to NVC center in the east coast. At most, it should take 5 days.

I do have some questions about the green card, so forgive me for these innocuous questions. Oh, and I am living in Japan with my husband during this whole process, and moving back to USA when he receives his green card.

1. After receiving greencard, is it okay to travel around Asia for a week before going back to USA?

2. We've been married for less than 2 years..which we qualify for conditional status....is there any way around that so we can automatically receive 10 years instead? We went out for 10 years before deciding to get hitched.
