Did both of you check your spam/junk folders? Did you ask an operator to spell out your email addresses to confirm they were correct?

Remember, it takes awhile to receive emails from NVC after they were generated.

And remember, just because you got a reply 3 days later for a previous email means nothing. The backlog NVC has to go through for emails changes daily, depending on how many people email NVC.

Saylin,

Thanks for your reply. We have been checking our spam/junk folders, and I have also confirm with operators several times and our email addresses are correctly spelled. I appreciate your words of encouragement and hopefully we get a reply soon

Grats on getting the NOA2. Please go back and read posts 1 and 2. You will find all the information you need there. Once you've read everything and re-read it to absorb it, then come back with any questions you may have.

Hi everyone,

I am currently waiting for NVC to give me a case number and have been so stressed. I received my NOA #2 acceptance on 2/23/2012. It's sitting in the office, but hasn't inputed into the system. I tried to talk to a supervisor unsuccessfully. NVC rep said that the file was received at the office on March 5. Really? From USCIS CA center package sent to east coast takes over 2 weeks?

I moved to Japan to be with my husband so we can go through this process together. I called US embassy in Japan to try and expedite through them, but their customer rep sounds like a robot. I sent an expedited service through USCIS, but it is really really slow. And it makes me even more upset to see that so many VJ's here are able to get their NVC case number in a snap.

USCIS package sent: 1/17/2012

NOA #1 received : 1/31/2012

NOA #2 received: 2/23/2012 (2/28 hard copy)

NVC case: pending

Ensure you correct that "nzcinquiry@state.gov" vs. "nvcinquiry@state.gov" ... I'm sure it was typo of yours but you want to make sure your emails go to the right place. Just a friendly advice

There are still a few people with NOA2 dates at the end of February that haven't gotten a date yet. And don't forget, two weeks to get a case number is pretty good compared to a few months ago where it was minimum 4 weeks to get a number assigned. Just keep calling NVC every day and asking if a case number has been assigned to you.

About the expedite. You'd have to request through NVC, not the embassy. NVC will take your request and forward it to the embassy who will make the decision. They'll tell NVC and then inform you of whether they approved it or not. But you'll have to wait for a case number before requesting an expedite.

Remember, there are some parts of this process that you just have to put up with and wait. Just go with it and be happy. If you're sad or angry all the time, it's just going to make this process even worse for you.

I thought it might be just a generic response. Just like '20 business days'. What's bad is that it is one thing to give out incorrect information from time to time, it's a whole other to systematically give generic responses that are in effect lies.

I'll call them again later and I imagine I'll get "lied" to again, unless I'm lucky like Ryan H was... :D

I think this is a good idea. I just resend the same via e-mail, but did not receive an auto response this time.....
