Ohh ok, good to know. But it's still ok to get the answer for question #25 (AOS) from the w'2s. Where it says wages, tips also known as line 1. Correct? Saylin you are Godsent!

No, don't take the amount from W2s. It could be different. Follow the instructions on question 25. It states:

"My total income (adjusted gross income on IRS Form 1040EZ) as reported on my Federal tax returns for the most recent three years was..."

It talks about the tax returns, not W2s. And, if you make a mistake on the tax return, IRS will correct it. That's why I suggest using the tax transcripts as those are based off the tax returns with any corrections done by the IRS.

I repeat, use the TAX TRANSCRIPT, not the W2. Sure, they may be the same amount, but do NOT take any chances!! Do you want ANOTHER checklist from NVC?!

WOW...i forgot to ask family! :( I'm such a bad niece, lol...maybe it's time to call my aunt up :) My printer does the trick but no scanning capabilities. Boo!

hahahha. I hit family up for everything :P My uncle lives down the street, and being a 'single' parent at the moment he does everything for me, from changing to oil in my car to remodeling my bathroom!

If nothing else my in-laws live in Winnipeg you can hit them up!

The operators will be able to see if an interview date is scheduled.

My case:

-Called on a Thursday (both at NVC and DOS), no interview date scheduled

-Called the next day on a Friday, interview date scheduled, both operators (at NVC and DOS) were able to tell me the date

-Received the interview letter at 6am on Saturday

After all, Gov facilities does work on the weekends...LOL. Must be a server delay, email was supposed to go out on Friday @ 6pm instead...

Hello everybody!

I've got some questions, I looked up a lot for answers but couldn't find! I received my case number from NVC on friday, but it's not only me going through the immigration process, I do have two kids and for each one of them a I-130 was submitted and my husband received three NOA2 (mine and other 2 for each kid) at the same day. So my questions are:

1) Is it just one case # for the three of us?

2) What about IV package? Will it be three for each one too? I am aware the fees will have to be paid for each one, not sure about the rest...

Thank you in advance for your answers, thank you Saylin for the very helpful link!

I always tell people the emails are received later than when they are actually generated. Wasn't the first time I received stuff from NVC on the weekend. There's always going to be a delay of a few hours.

I'm not too familiar with multi-person cases, but this is how I see it:

1. Each person gets their own case number

2. You then submit three separate IV packages (each their own bar-coded cover sheet, their own DS-230, their own birth certificates, their own pictures, etc, etc) all included in the same envelope to NVC

Yeah, that's why I figured I'd even call later today in addition to tomorrow. The real question then becomes, will those operators see whether an interview is scheduled quickly or will it be like other things where the only way to get good/recent information is to speak to a supervisor?

They will see it.

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

Just an FYI

I'm confirming that as soon as your tax returns show up as processed and your refund has been issued you can order 2011 tax transcripts. I just ordered mine

"We have accepted your request for a 2011 Return Transcript . Please allow 5-10 days to receive it. The transcript will be sent to the address we have on file for you.

If you need more than one copy of your transcript you are allowed to make copies for your personal records."

A tax transcript should break down who's income is who's on the return because they come from two different sources. If nothing else have his wife file an I-864a.

Tax return. but if you send out 1040s + W2s, it should be enough. it is either OR. but I would send both if you think you can have'em fast enough.

Yes, it's the tax RETURN transcripts you need.

I ordered 2008, 2009, 2010 tax return transcript in 2011. Should i bother ordering again because it says that "Requested on: Sep 2011 etc..."

Maybe its better to have more recent dates? even though it doesn't really change anything else.?

maybe i'm being a little bit too perfectionist...
