CASE COMPLETE!!!!!!!

Time to completion (not counting errors): 3 Days (6March - 9March)

Time to completion (counting errors) 10 Days (28Feb - 9March)

Of course, none of that counts the massive delay caused by doing the OPTIN too soon. That puts the time at over 30 days.

Congrats, while I won't predict the exact date, I will say you are on track for an interview in April. Good luck at the interview by the way!

Doesn't GUZ assign their own interview dates?

For paper cases, yes. For EP cases, as Darnell already said, no.

Yeah. Got interview appointment letter today!

Congrats and good luck!

I am sorry ,I was out travelling with a slow connection,so no posting,no updating my timelines..So,here we are:the case is complete as of yesterday !!!!Took longer than it could`ve because they assigned the wrong embassy at the begginning...So we were getting diffferent info from different operators, one was saying pay the bill do not wait for a change, the other was -wait do not pay....well,we ended up paying with the wrong embassy, and they merged "two "files ,which is in reality only one.

Anyways, now awaiing for the interview to be set up.

Special thanks to Laure&Colin and,of course,Saylin!Very informative, very helpful and what most important is encouraging! We needed that!

Saylin Thanks for all your hard work!!!

Your knowledge on this stuff is priceless.

I want to run this by you..

We set up EP and got an email back confirming we are good to go for ep.

As you can see on my TL we got our NOA1 and 2 very quick, and got our case number and stuff at the beginning of the year.

Not wanting to go to MTL in the winter we have waited until last weekend to do our 230's...My wife has yet to do the I-864, but we are going to try and send it out this weekend.

My question is...Our marriage cert. is very large and has been difficult to get a decent photocopy. We are wondering if we can just mail everything in via snail mail even though we have already filed for EP? If so we are just going to put everything together and mail it all in.

TIA.

If you want to mail stuff in, then you're going to have to opt out of EP first.

And remember, being from Canada, you fill out the DS-260 online, not send in the DS-230.

Is your marriage certificate just LONG, or is it WIDE as well?

My husband and I have been total Newbs about the NVC part of this visajourney. We assumed the automated message when calling NVC was correct (as in, we'd get packages in the post). A few weeks later we realised that didn't happen so we sent our forms. Yesterday we got a checklist for husband (USC)'s evidence of relationship with co-sponsor (his father). He's sending birth certificate priority post today.

Frustrating and daft on our parts, but still hoping for a May interview.

As far as I know, London isn't backlogged or anything, so if you finish within the next week or two, you should get an interview for May. Or possibly even the end of April ;)

If you have a smart phone, there are plenty of "scanning" apps that you'd be able to scan extra large documents with. My entire I-864 was "scanned" with the iPhone app Genius Scan and they accepted it.

Cheers - I do hope so! We decided it'd be nice if we could be together by our anniversary at the end of May :)

Yes, it usually takes some time for both your bank account and the payment portal to match up. Since it's the weekend, it's highly doubtful any more progress will be made. But I'm sure on Monday, the payment portal will have the bill appearing as PAID.

No, of the I-864 form. Smart phones have cameras of the same quality as many (cheaper) full sized digital cameras. The app just converts the photo to a clearer, more "scanned" looking image, and there are tons of how-tos and apps that pop up if you google "scan documents with your iphone." I did it because it was the weekend, so I wasn't going to go into work to scan the document, and I didn't trust a copy shop with all of my personal information.

Now, I don't know if it would work for NVC on something more complicated like a marriage certificate, but like I said, for the straight up, black and white forms, they accepted it.

I had the same reason when I was at NVC last year. I wanted us to be together for our first year anniversary on May 21. It did indeed happen :)

Well, that's impressive. I know the cameras are good on smart phones these days (mine's an 8MP), but I just figured that scanners are more stable (no shaky hands) and are more up-close to the document. But hey, whatever works laughing.gif

Ok thanks Saylin...I called NVC yesterday to see if they say anything different when they receive docs but nope, the gentleman i spoke with told me they will not let you know when docs are received, only when docs are reviewed; if all docs are OK they'll let you know case complete if not you will get a check list for missing information.

Right?
