Okay now I'm just being paranoid. What if I call tomorrow and a supervisor says they'll review it and it'll take 10-15 business days? Then I just set my case back a week or two. Is there a downside to just bringing all the appropriate documentation from the joint sponsor to the interview?

There's no downside to bringing the joint sponsor information, but if there's a problem with the finances and you don't correct it for the interview, then you may be put into AP until you fix it. Granted, there may be nothing wrong with the finances and NVC is just being dumb, which can happen headbonk.gif

Got my hard copy NOA2 in the mail today.

I wasn't surprised to see our priority date being June 16, 2011. The special person at USCIS said my priority date changed to July 25 because of the money order fiasco. Funny, that after I had my Congressman look into things we were finally approved after 260 days.

Ok, here's a gooder of a question:

My joint sponsor is my ex-husband. I'll give everyone a moment for that to sink in..........

Ok, so, I claim our kids on my taxes, the children live with me, I am the custodial parent. He pays child support. Do I count the kids on my I-864 and leave them off his, or do we both have to count them?

Well, that's an interesting joint sponsor blink.gif

As for your question, are you the only one that counts the kids as dependents on tax returns? Or does he count them too as dependents? If only you count the kids as dependents, then you only count them on your I-864 as it says number of "dependent children". If both of you count the kids as dependents, then both of you would count them on the I-864. That's my logic anyways.

Hiya' doing Saylin,

I sent my DS-3032 (beneficiary's email) the day I received the case # and all on 3/5/2012. How long do you suppose I have to wait before NVC kicks out something for me.

Also, is it alright for a family member to fill out 864 instead of 864A if the house member(my Dad) lives in the same house?

Please re-read the FAQ again :)

All the initial time ticks (AOS invoiced, initial information email received, DS-3032 accepted, IV invoiced) takes a couple of days (1-3).

No, I'm the only one that claims them as dependents on my tax returns.

Ya, kinda weird, but it works. When my sister fell through he offered to help out.

Exactly. Well, I know you think that it's gonna be a lot easier for me, interviewing in Paris, but it doesn't stop me from thinking nothing is granted.

Hell, the train company workers could go on strike and we could miss our interview ! (this one is probably the most likely to occur)

With you on this one - some of the workers at Air Canada are threatening to go on strike.

Well, yes, but we are 99% sure we'll be moving to Canada in the next two or three years, and hopefully permanently. So if we never come back to the US, removing conditions and getting citizenship just adds another $2000 to our immediate immigration bill (on top of the $1300 we have to pay to get me to Canada), and then he'll forever be filing taxes in the US and renewing an American passport so we can visit my family (once he's an American citizen, he'll have to always enter the US on an American passport, even if he never lives here again). So pas si simple que ça! But that's not to say that I don't over-think things. :)

Lots of things to consider for sure. You'd have to complete US taxes anyway so that's a non-issue. The trouble is you just don't know what the future will bring. If I'd become a US citizen then we wouldn't be going through through this all over again. The good thing is that we (as a family) have had a few months to get used to the idea rather than just getting up and going.

If you think the US system is slow just wait until you have to deal with the Canadian system.

Grats! kicking.gif Call back later tonight and you should be able to give over the email addresses.

Called and was able to add both email address to the case. Petitioner's email address already there so only had to add beneficiary's email address.

This afternoon operator was much MUCH MUCH friendlier :) than the one just now. Felt like i was talking to a pissed off robot. Oh well, I hope his mood gets better for the next client. :(

Yeah, get used to the different operators. Some will be nice and pleasant and want to do their best to help you. Others, they just scream at you, pissed off. Just go with it.
