I'm really confused. I got the checklist letter asking for the IV packet but it also said this about my AOS packet:

F - FINANCIAL EVIDENCE:______________________________________

The NVC has received the information you have submitted in reference to

the Affidavit of Support. Please be advised that the Affidavit of Support

information you have provided does not appear to meet the minimum

income requirement according to the current poverty guidelines to sponsor

the intending immigrant(s) for this petition. The consular officer will make

a decision regarding this requirement at the time of your interview. In

order to avoid delays, you may wish to submit an additional Affidavit of

Support (Form I-864) for a/another Joint Sponsor to the National Visa

Center to assist in sponsoring the intending immigrants. To view the

current poverty guidelines, visit

http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/I-864P.pdf.

If you decide to use a Joint Sponsor to assist in sponsoring the intending

immigrants, please note that you the sponsor may not use Form I-864EZ

and will also need to submit Form I-864.

I'm confused because I did have a joint sponsor and he makes over 50K a year. I'm not really sure what to do. I guess I'll just bring a copy of the AOS packet to the interview since it said the CO will make the final decision. This process is killing me :bonk:

That's weird then that didn't like your joint sponsor. You might want to call and inquire why they issued that checklist since your joint sponsor seems to be well over the poverty line...

Okay I'll give them a call tomorrow. Would that be something I'd ask a supervisor?

If the operator doesn't know, then yes, ask for a supervisor.

Obvious one I think- currently unable to login to the payment portal using case ID and IIN and I know from the FAQ this should be because they are generating invoices- (hopefully both as they have the ds-3032 already!) but I think I read I do not need to be notified by the NVC before I pay this? I can pay the invoices as soon as they appear right?

Yup, pay as soon as you can! If you wait on NVC to tell you to do something, you'll waste precious time (days!), so don't delay no0pb.gif

Huh... odd thing...

I just got the checklist for the AOS issue that was already noted and for which I already sent in the corrections. However, the odd thing is that they list more 'issues' with the original AOS that I anticipated. At first the way I read it indicated that perhaps there are more issues than I was led to believe. On a second and third reading it seems that this is a very poorly assembled standard form and that it is likely the only issue was the one that was noted before. It scared me for a second...

Okay now I'm just being paranoid. What if I call tomorrow and a supervisor says they'll review it and it'll take 10-15 business days? Then I just set my case back a week or two. Is there a downside to just bringing all the appropriate documentation from the joint sponsor to the interview?

If the supervisor says it'll take 10 - 15 business days, just call back the next day anyway. They give time frames but really have no clue how long it will or won't take. Just call every day and ask. :)

I know, but I remember in the February thread a couple of people got checklists for birth certificates that they did send in. It actually took the supervisor 10 days to look at it . I think I'll call anyway though, I'm too curious.
