I won't lie... when we finally get to our interview date and she disappears up stairs (USCs have to wait, if present, on the 4th floor)... I'll be nervous and scared out of my mind.

There's an IKEA around the corner - suggest you go there, get to the resturant portion, and get busy with the nervous eating. Then when she comes out with the good news - yer in the right place to shop for cotton napkins for the dining room , to celebrate... ;)

A second question, I'm hoping that they'll let me be the sole sponsor and let my mom off the hook even though I submitted her info at NVC. I make above the cut off, so if the CO thinks my income is sufficient, can I ask for my mom to no longer be included as a cosponsor? I'm afraid that I'll be too nervous/excited at the interview to remember to ask this...

You'll have a chance to correct this :

1. via telephone into NVC and/or

2. interview day, with a NEW I-864 package handed in during the first 10 seconds of the interview.

if the 2011 income is the bit that makes the difference, you can actually submit it into NVC prior to interview day, and it'll magically show up with the casefile (as SAFEFILE is used for your casefile from NVC to MTL).

I reminded him his passport expired in July in January. He still hasn't done it. He said yesterday "But you said I had plenty of time" "Yes, dear I did. IN JANUARY!" :bonk: Men! lol So if he sends it out today he should get it back in 10 days. Maybe..

Remind him that they won't apply the visa stamp in the passport if the passport has less than 6 months left on it, on interview day.

Holy terror... I just spoke to what might be the greatest waste of space at NVC. She was nice, more or less, but she got stuck on my I-864EZ question and no matter how many times I told her "I'm asking about the DS-230" she wouldn't say a word about the other one except to repeat "20 business days" over and over again... sheesh.

I was calling because even after nearly 9 hours, there hasn't even been the auto-reply from NVCElectronic.... that seems a bit odd, no?

Ops, I just paid AOS for daughter, what to do now?

I submitted OPTIN for daughter, haven't heard from them yet. My wife's case number has been changed to GZO. I'm now waiting for daughter's, so I can start submitting i-864 and DS-230.

I don't know why my time line is not showing up.

I-130 received 2011-07-26

I-130 approved 2012-02-09

You not need to pay AOS for daughter - I'm sorry you missed that, in it's entirety. For two or more ppl at NVC, it's only ONE AOS fee of 88.

Thanks for filling out yer timeline at http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/profile.php?id=114962

Since you could see the AOS fee bill on the daughter, I'll suggest to you that the two casefiles are NOT married up yet, at NVC. The humans you spoke to at NVC were wrong, you have to ask for it, specifically.

Coming up, you have 2 more data re-homes:

1. GZO number on the daughter

2. TWO CASEFILES married up together.

Don't be surprised that your processing time will take 2 or 3 extra weeks on this - and that's OK.

Just remember, these are contractors from SERCO, those front-line phone operators, with NO ACCESS to yer casefile. They can look up casefile status, and that's about it.

To get a pointed answer, ask for a Supervisor.. Don't forget to remind the Supervisor that yer an EP case for GUZ IV.

Good Luck !

Well... called them again... at first the guy I spoke to seemed to say I would have to wait 20 days to even find out if they even got the email. I'm not sure what to do now since there's no indication that my email even got to them... sheesh... crappy night here :(

a supervisor's screen is much more detail - they have higher access.

can they tell if an email is in the pipe? unknown - but they can tell if it was detached and added to the casefile.

imo, it's worth a phone again, again.

come on, they're still open.

Third call... here we go!

*rolls dice*

I think this time I'll just directly ask for a supervisor and skip even asking the front line person anything... no point in it

Like I just told Sue on QQ... they use lots of words and say very little

Hi Everyone,

Got a question on I-864!

For the last two years my two sons ages 7, and 5 have been living with my parents while we were abroad. He did in fact included them as dependents on his income tax return I am seeing that in his tax transcripts for the last 2 years. Should I still include them in my I-864 as dependent children on my number of household section or not? I am prepared to include the transcript for those 2 years from my dad's behalf to show this fact.

Well, as it says "dependent children" on the I-864, I think in your case, you wouldn't count them as they're considered dependents for your parents.

Triple checked! LOL! Sorry to be such a pain but I think I have to wait for the Payment Portal to show the AOS status as "PAID" before I mail the package, right? Don't want to jump ahead and screw things up

Oops, didn't know it hadn't shown as PAID yet for you! Yes, definitely wait until the payment has cleared before mailing the package. While you're waiting, have someone else check the package (not you). Fresh eyes help greatly to spot errors.

I just off the phone with the NVC Operator, I received my Case number and IIN Number!

Question: How soon can we send the Emailed DS-3032 and option email? 'NOW'????

Grats!

You can send the DS-3032 immediately.

And I think you mean OPTIN email, not option. Either way, your country is NOT eligible for EP nor online forms. You have to snail mail all packages.

Please, re-read the links and FAQ I posted in the first two posts. You are missing VALUABLE information if you're asking these things...

If submitting last three years of tax returns, should I check both boxes in question 25--top and bottom ones?

Yup. That's what I did yes.gif

...

She's already left NVC though and simply waiting for her interview next week. So, her only option would be to bring an updated I-864 with no joint sponsor information.
