OK. I like the looks of the transcript better - looks more official, it's 1 page as opposed to 2...thanks for sending that. Just trying to figure out if I want to deal with more of my husband beating himself up for "not being smart enough to get me the right stuff on the first try", as he'd put it. When I get talking finance/tax/anything like that, his eyes glaze over and he feels positively dumb (even though he's SO not). It makes me feel helpless when he does that where I can't hug him, and that's how this is going to go over...lol.

Thanks for your help though! That's awesome! It wouldn't cause a significant delay to just use the 1040's/W2/etc, would it? Weighing options...

No, NVC should accept the 1040s, W2s, and other schedules (if applicable) without any delay. But just in case, order the tax transcripts NOW. There has been a checklist or two recently received asking for the tax transcripts, even though the 1040s and W2s were seemingly provided.

If you know your husband's information, you can even order the tax transcripts for him online at IRS's site headbonk.gif

Thanks VERY much...husbandly meltdown averted! Sorry for being a pain about it - we'll order the transcripts but submit the 1040s. I tried to order them last night actually - for some reason I couldn't make the site accept his address. Maybe it just locked me out for the evening, and maybe trying again tonight would work.

You're welcome. And don't be sorry, you weren't a pain. Just making sure you have the right documents!

Make sure, when ordering, use IE. Government sites much prefer IE and don't work as well with other browsers headbonk.gif

That headbonk guy is PERFECT for government agencies. I wanted to take my computer and do that to them using IT last night...lol. Any particular version of IE work better? Just want to optimize everything for them.... **sigh** :ranting:

I think IE8 is still the best to use for government sites, even though IE9 is out. Not only do they not support other browsers, but they don't even support the newest version of IE *sigh* headbonk.gif

Just got our LND case number from the operator, but thought I'd dial back in to check I'd heard it correctly - but the AVR systems still say they have no record. Is this normal?

Yup, completely normal. The AVR is always a few days behind. If you want to verify the case number and IIN, just call an operator again to check.

And grats by the way! kicking.gif

Thanks! They wouldnt give me the IIN though - apparently it has to go to the agent.

Regretting having a lawyer now.. but no doubt will be thankful when it comes to filing the I864 :D

Hmm, they should still give the IIN to you, even if you're the petitioner or beneficiary, and have a lawyer. I'd call up and try again. I know some of the operators are finicky about giving out IINs. If not possible, then you'll get the email (if you gave over the email addresses to the operator) with the case number, IIN, and expired DS-3032.

CONFUSED: So I sent an email to NVC inquiry (march 2) asking if they have any update of my case and got a response today stating:

To continue processing your immigrant visa case, you will need to designate an agent by completing form DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent). Upon receipt of the Ds-3032, we will send instructions for paying the immigrant visa application fee. All future correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the DS-3032.

Hubby sent the DS3032 on March 2 so I have no idea why they are asking for it again...any advice?

The lady has both mine and my other halfs email addresses.. so that bits good. What do you mean by expired DS3032?

In the initial information package, the first page includes your case information (number, IIN), then there's a page on how to contact NVC. The last page is a very expired DS-3032. Mine was dated as expiring on 12/31/2006. More than 4 years expired blink.gif

But, in your case, you can simply ignore the DS-3032 since you have a lawyer who is automatically designated as agent.

It really does take time (few days) for the DS3032 queue to be worked. I'm not surprised that you received this reply.

Hubby sent the DS3032 first in the afternoon and I sent the inquiry March 5th so I dont know why the DS3032 email has not been looked at...worried a bit.
