Today is the 11th business day since NVC received my CR1 petition. It's been a while. My documents are ready, but without the case number, processing will not start. What's happening.

Just something to make you all laugh...

This whole process is getting to be so much that last night I had a dream that we got a checklist from NVC. The checklist was because we didn't include how long my husband's steps are when he walks. NVC wanted his walking stride measured in feet and inches.

I woke up laughing.....

Hi guys,

I just have ONE question concerning the DS-230.

Concerning question #35: "List dates of all previous visits to or residence in the United States. etc". Under "Location", do I put the POE (point of entry) or do i have to list exactly where I went each time???

Any help would be appreciated,

Thanks

It's been taking about 3 weeks from NOA2 to get a case number assigned. You should be getting yours soon. Just keep calling every day.

Put the location where you stayed, not your POE.

*DS-230, I hope

And nope, doesn't matter where it's mailed from. That's a question on the FAQ ;)

And thanks ^_^ I try my best to help everyone out!

Sorry my bad, I mailed the DS 230 form.

The lady at NVC told us not to send the DS 3032 email before they email me. Do we have to wait for it ? She had also told us that u do not need the IIN as u will not be able to do anything with it till NVC contacted us as they were just putting our info in. But on insisting she generated the IIN and when I logged on there 30 minutes later to NVC payment portal the AOS bill had already been invoiced and we made the payment an hour later. If we would have waited we could have lost valuable days.

Also, is there any thread where it gives info about the actual questions that they ask at the Visa Interview to the beneficiaries.

Definitely don't wait for the DS-3032 to be emailed to you in the initial information package. You have to be proactive with NVC if you want to get through quickly. Refer to the first post in this thread and you'll see a link for the DS-3032 email template. Read it and follow the instructions.

And the IIN is needed to pay the bills. That's how you log into the payment portal and pay the AOS and IV bills. The AOS can be invoiced before you receive the initial information package from NVC which contains the IIN. This is what happened in your case. If you hadn't insisted, then that bill would just be sitting there, invoiced, and not paid.

And yes, here's a wiki on example questions: http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/Consular_Interview_Questions It's long, but VERY thorough.

You should be getting your case number either this week or next. It's been taking NVC about 3 weeks from NOA2 to get a case number assigned.

Here's the link to Trinidad: http://travel.state.gov/visa/fees/fees_5455.html?cid=9658#docs, scroll down to Police Records. If it was obtained from the right place, then you should be fine.
