We didn't get the IV bill over night, but it is now listed on the payment portal page, where before there was nothing.

The Summary has changed to: The next step in the Immigrant Visa process is for the applicant to pay the Immigrant Visa Application fee. The principal applicant (or the principal applicant's agent) will receive an Immigrant Visa Fee Processing Fee Bill Invoice from the National Visa Center. I'm guessing we'll have it Monday :D

I got the email that they have received our AOS package.. here's to hoping no check list!

I'm looking at the OPTIN mail thingy.

I understand it's a way to communicate with the NVC electronically instead of snail mail, but is this still for Montreal and Guangzhou only? Has things evolved so Europeans can use the system and if so, how do i proceed from here on?

I've read the guides, but I don't know if I can use this system.

I've sent in in the 3032 by e-mail and received the fee bill invoice by e-mail

There's a link in the first post to countries eligible for EP and/or online forms. Unfortunately, your country is not one of them. You have no choice but to snail mail packages.

Hey guys, quick question about the Social Secuirty questions on the DS230 form. I previously worked in the US on a J1 visa. So my current social security has stamped on the front "VALID FOR WORK ONLY WITH DHS AUTHORIZATION". Should I request for them to send me a new card on the form(not new number but just a new card wihtout that info stamped on the front)????????

Yeah, I would suggest ticking off that checkbox so a new card is sent to you after POE that won't have that statement.

Hi All!

I'm filling out my husband's 230 and for number 32, it asks about what job he plans to do in the US. Since his English is very basic he will probably do a course at the local community college. Can I write student? Hopefully he will be able to do something part-time but at this point I'm not sure what "occupation" that will be. In brazil he works with market research, but in the beginning he's gonna have to do something that doesn't require too much English.

You can put 'student'; I did for my forms and had no problems. Granted, I'm also working part-time at Target, but I had no idea where I was gonna work back when I was in Canada waiting for the process to finish.

Oh, and make sure you include a copy of the form DS-2019 (IAP-66) that went along with J1 visa. That's what my RFE was for as I didn't know that they needed it. It is to do with the 2 year residence requirement after having an exchange visitor visa.

O awesome I was wondering about that.

I was exempted by my government and did not have to fulfill the 2 yrs. But I have that notice as well so I will add it to the packet. So glad I asked about this, thanks Peter D.

sure, we'll go with that... nah, just a nice day off from school, work, AND immigration stuff... LOL... no case number yet when i called yesterday... i'm much more relaxed now than during NOA2 waiting period... i think i can handle anything after THAT wait... my hubby's IV documents/DS230 just arrived yesterday from Egypt so that was nice... great timing too... i'm all ready to go now :D also, taxes are done, so i'm just chilling and calling NVC every night...

04/04/12 - IV Packets reviewed. Checklist issued for Divorce Decree for my wife. Step-daughter's was accepted and her case closed

04/10/12 - Divorce Decree accepted after supervisor review & wife's case closed

04/16/12 - Expedite requested for both cases due to NVC error

04/18/12 - Expedite request approved for both cases and sent to Santiago Embassy

Embassy: (15 days)

04/24/12 - Embassy received both cases from NVC

04/25/12 - Wife went to Embassy for document review. Interview date assigned for both cases.

04/26/12 - Medical Exam for both. Result - approved.

05/07/12 - Interview date for both. Result - approved!

05/09/12 - Received both Visas

05/16/12 - POE Atlanta
