Not always true...I'm watching everyone get invoices but me, and when I phone to ask why I've been seeing "your case is in the process of termination" for the last week, all they say is "that's why we say it takes 10-20 days." :blink:

I called at 7pm asked why im not getting invoice for IV, the lady said Ds261/Ds3032 is still in review when they will accept they will email me.Blah Blah....Im tired top listening the same thing.It takes 20 days to review... :wacko:

NVC (30 days, March 12 to April 11. Case expedited due to NVC errors).

Montreal US Consulate, awaiting interview date (14 days, April 12 to April 26).

Anyone with some idea know if the wait time for the interview is on NVC or if its the consulate to which your interview is being scheduled at?

That's a good question... I guess depending on the answer, it might mean that interview dates are scheduled faster for some consulates. When I said I'd spoken to one person with a 6+ week wait and another person with a 24 hour wait, though, they were both London consulate interviews, so it looks like there can be plenty of variation at the same consulate.

Out of curiosity, does anyone know what the odds are on calling the consulate and rescheduling your interview for a sooner date? Like volunteering to be on standby in the event that an interview is cancelled?

NVC schedules interviews based on what the Embassy/Consulate tells them they have available in terms of dates.

Like volunteering to be on standby in the event that an interview is cancelled?

You can always try, no harm in doing so.

just spoke to my accounting professor who has 25+ years of experience in this, he also confirmed that it's single. i guess i'll just include a letter to my husband for when he goes on his interview stating why i filed as single. my professor said that married filing separately is also not right because HE is not filing. ITIN numbers are for people living in the US, you cannot get an ITIN number if you are not, this I know from my time working with international students with the Department of State and dealing with ITIN's for the students when they were abroad. it isn't possible since my husband has NEVER lived here or worked here. I will include the letter as per the white slip given to the first person you referred me to.

on the 1040X it says to put your husbands info if filing jointly, which we aren't...so i'm assuming i still write it and then put NRA under social security? i'm assuming this form isn't as die hard obsessive as all the NVC and USCIS forms :bonk::hehe:

Why not just take the plunge and file the 1040X with the W-7, send all to the special IRS address in Austin Texas ????

Not really.

What you need is a 'final review complete, which occurs after the CC.

Then, and only then, will yer casefile get lobbed into the Scheduled queue.

Queues abound.

Yes, it's EP case. I received interview date notice today. It's only one day.

07/xx/2011: i130s sent

02/17/2012: wife's case number assigned

02/27/2012: daughter's case number assigned

...massive delay...

03/19/2012: finally the final IV invoice assigned for daughter

03/19/2012: AOS sent

03/21/2012: IV sent
