Call back and talk to a supervisor. A regular operator can not access your file.

So a supervisor would be able to look into my file and see that I already submitted my birth certificate??

Someone else had this exact same issue. They ended up just sending another birth certificate to be done with it.

The issue isn't that it was a copy right? I will send another copy tomorrow to save time but I still want to talk to a supervisor tonight when I get out of class to see if they can tell me anything else. Really frustrating because THEY missed it - not me. :bonk:

No, they just want copies. It says to send photocopies. Make sure to high light your dad's name so they can see that your related.

Hi everyone :)

Great thread here, and lots of useful information. Thanks to everyone and especially Saylin for compiling everything.

I received my NOA2 on 3/16 and NVC received it on 3/19. Called 10 minutes ago and spoke with Amanda from NVC. She told me they have not yet typed it in but it is there.

She said it takes between 10-20 business days and for an I-130 I am still in normal processing time. She told me to try and calling back next week (of course I will not wait that long)..but she was friendly. Hopefully I will have good news soon.

Hi everyone :)

Great thread here, and lots of useful information. Thanks to everyone and especially Saylin for compiling everything.

I agree, for the most part, everyone I spoke to was friendly. I see NVC received our cases the same day, hopefully we both will have our case#'s very very soon.

#######, another friggin 'problem' so the entire 260 is ready to go, and we realize that on my husband's birth certificate, his mother's nationality is listed as Spanish, but her nationality is actually German. She only has Spanish residency and has been living in Spain for 35 years. My husband did all the document translation and did so exactly, putting that his mothers nationality as Spanish (as the document states) but we put that he has dual nationality in his forms because he is both German and Spanish, but lived in Spain all his life, dual nationality comes only from his mom. There is no way that we are going to delay our process because of this tiny fluke/clerical error. But do you think that we will get a checklist? HELPP!!!!! :help::bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk: :bonk:

I agree.. unfortunately you can't assume common sense...

So, I just talked to a supervisor. She sounded like she didn't know what she was talking about though. She was talking about how I need to send in the DS-230. I told her I know that I'm waiting for it to reflect paid and it's about the 864 packet. She then said that the system sent out the checklist before they fully reviewed the packet and to ignore the checklist. I asked her if I was going to get anything in writing so that I know to ignore the checklist and that I don't want to our case to be delayed. She said we don't get anything in writing and that it's fine and the DS-230 is the next step (duh). :bonk:

So, now I don't know what to believe. Should I call again tomorrow and ask for another supervisor? I just want to be sure...

(**for those that didn't read my first post - i got a checklist today saying that i didn't provide proof of relationship between me and my cosponsor (my dad) even though i did (birth certificate). so that's what this is about...)

Could be a false checklist...although those aren't generally for specific items, right?

False checklists are for entire packages (AOS or IV). Something specific like that isn't generally a false checklist.

Just got off the phone with NVC Nigel... I could listen to him talk all day with his accent.. anyway..

Those of us who opt-in to the EP last Wednesday or after.. they had an 'issue' and it's taking them a little longer than usual to get the EP customers into the right system and have the invoices generated. So.. ya.. Nigel told me I'd have to hang on just a bit longer. He wasn't specific if the issue was just MTL or not.

Good to know the reason why it's been taking you guys awhile...

finally sent in ds-260 :)

the last security question..."are you likely to become a public charge after you are admitted to the United States?--yes/no" how many of us answered yes? :hehe: :hehe:

I'd suggest calling again tomorrow and requesting another supervisor. It's weird that one operator says the your AOS was accepted, but then you get a checklist.
