One thing I noticed, a lot of people post NVC related questions outside of this thread. Should they be coming here and asking or should they stay where they are? My question being is it better to create new threads when you have a question? I find coming here and asking a question to be much better answered.

My favourite are the new threads "file at NVC what do I do now?" or "how do I prove domicile" thread started a day after the previous "how do I prove domicile" thread which was started 2 days after the previous one.

Question: I see you've already scheduled your medical. When you called, was their availability pretty reasonable, or is it best to make an appointment several weeks ahead of time?

I just phoned them yesterday and booked an appointment for next Monday. They did have availability for this week too though, so no need to book it way in advance. But since your case is complete it might be better to do it sooner rather than later. Then you only need to think about the interview, at least that's how I'm looking at it :) . I would have done it this week but it was just easier for me to get time off work and arrange transport for next week.

Maybe saying the wait for interview is worse than the wait for the petition approval wasn't quite right. I think it was more a case of expecting a long wait for that and now that we're soooo close to the end I can't wait to find out the interview date, my patience has ran out lol.

:rofl: I've tried to limit myself to only checking e-mail every half hour. It's not working...

Ha ha. Know what you mean. This was one part of the process where you knew the file was just sitting waiting for someone to do something. At all the other stages I could pretend that someone was actually working on it.

The one day I didn't obsessively check my email was the day hubby checked his personal email during the afternoon so he saw the notification first.

Oh, yes, gotta love the threads that repeat themselves. A simple look at the first page of threads alone would answer most of those questions. And a search through the forums would probably answer the others. Oh well, can't fix anything about that!

I'm SOOO upset.. I called NVC earlier today, they told me my AOS packet was accepted and there were no problems. Ten minutes ago I got a checklist via email. It's for the 864A that says "household member needs to provide proof of relationship with sponsor". I DID. The household sponsor is my dad and I provided a copy of my birth certificate since he is my father. I just called NVC and they said sorry there's no way we can look in your file, just send us another birth certificate and highlight his name on it.

WHAT THE HELL.!!!! :( Saylin, is there anything else that could be wrong? Am i not allowed to submit a birth certificate to prove that he's my father? What else would I submit? I'm so frustrated because I don't think I did anything wrong!!!

Call back and talk to a supervisor. A regular operator can not access your file.

Could be a false checklist...although those aren't generally for specific items, right?

I am right there with you, approved the 16th though and been in the mailroom from the 19th. Just call everyday, that's what i do. You will eventually get the case number.

It took nine days to get our case number after they got our petition. I called at 8pm and had the case number.. earlier in the day they didn't have it. Keep calling! You'll get it soon!

Just got off the phone with NVC Nigel... I could listen to him talk all day with his accent.. anyway..

Those of us who opt-in to the EP last Wednesday or after.. they had an 'issue' and it's taking them a little longer than usual to get the EP customers into the right system and have the invoices generated. So.. ya.. Nigel told me I'd have to hang on just a bit longer. He wasn't specific if the issue was just MTL or not.
