NVC Filers - March 2012

hi everyone, finalizing the ds-230, my husband made all the translations for it since they technically aren't required, and his mom looked over everything since she studied in England and is fully fluent. Should she fill out the translation forms since it would look weird that he translated his own documents...does it matter?

So I managed to illicit some information from a lovely lady called Irene at the NVC today.

Essentially as a rule they tell people they only schedule during week 2 of a month, because they take each month as it comes and dependant on load for a particular embassy they do start earlier, but as ever it's fluid and the only rule they have is that it does start on the 2nd week on the month.

No real help- but she was empathetic and told me to keep callin and asking, incase.

Hmm this sort of makes sense. Jean told me this morning that unfortunately NVC could not schedule my interview this month because the Asuncion Consulate had no more openings. I know that the Consulate here only does spouse visa interviews the first week of each month so that leaves only a few openings each month. It makes sense then that if the "interview clock" restarts the second week of each month, I missed out on this month and will have to wait.

I could also be wrong about all of that but thanks for the info nonetheless

I translated and signed the certification for all of my husband's documents. As long as he is competent to do it, then it is fine.

I emailed DS3032 on 03/22/2012 - same day I got my case number. On 03/26/2012 I got my emails for AOS packet and Bill had been invoiced and paid it. Yesterday, I called NVC for another matter but decided to ask whether they had received my choice of agent. She said go ahead and email it again, so I did so yesterday. Today, the choice of agent was accepted. They referenced the Choice of Agent I mailed again yesterday and not the one I emailed on 03/22. I know it was the latter and not the former email coz I tweaked a few things (Made lower case changes to the email addresses that had been upper-case) and gave a different phone number.

Yea I wish I had gotten a better operator today the one I spoke to was just very short. I asked her if they had received my form which I emailed on 03/22/12. She said they no and they wont know until they get to my email, that once I received the automatic email I should just wait. . She also said that emails were answered in the order they were received, which I find is funny since your was sent after mine. I will call again later.

Wondering if I should email mine again now????????????????????

That's how I felt for my interview. Wish there was something like this for myself when I was going to my interview. Oh well! Now, for the future, everyone can know what to expect!
