:crying: 2nd call of the day to NVC and nothing...... :crying: do they not understand I have who knows how many things on the line for this interview. I have to pick school schedule for summer, let work know atleast a month in advance, mother's day is around the time I could get an interview, my friend's wedding I am walking in DR...too many things that all depend on the interview date! Stressing much!

I'm in the same boat! The case was completed on Wednesday and so far no interview date. I know it's early days still, but it's upsetting to hear them tell me to call back after the second week of April... that makes it seem really unlikely that we'll be scheduled before June. I really want my husband to be with me by our first wedding anniversary on June 3rd :(

Keep in mind that line is a lie. They schedule interviews all month long. I'm pretty sure for the UK, it's just 2 months from CC to interview, so you should have enough time to get your husband into the US, as long as he doesn't have much to do once he receives the visa.

I guess I'm still a little shell-shocked by the whole I-130 process, in which it was clear that cases were not moving in order. So in my brain, if they wait to schedule my interview, that means tons of applications are going through before mine, and those interview slots are being taken. If NVC is more regimented about things, and having to wait two weeks to get your interview date doesn't change what day you get an interview (or the order in which the interviews are assigned), then it's not really a big deal (except lack of peace of mind, really)! But I've lost so much trust through this whole process.

That 2nd week of April prompt is not true... that I understand interview are schedule all month long. For me the bad part is I was guiding myself by Matt's timeline and it took him 10 days (counting weekends) to get info on his interview... and I am at 10 days and nothing ...:hehe:

When I was watching Canada cases for interviews, it was generally in the order of CC. I can't recall anyone getting an interview faster than people ahead of them (unless there was an expedite). So they're definitely much better than USCIS at keeping cases in order.

Keep in mind, time frames are always changing as there will always be a different number of people in queue. It seems that more DR cases have been completed recently, so you might have to wait a bit longer.

I'm going :ot: with a quick question to all you pros on here... My husband is filing out some papers for his divident in AK and on there he has to fill out info about me. One question was if I have an alien registration number, I don't have that do I? I've never heard that term before so I got a litte insecure, is that a number you recive enering the country with the visa or is it a number you get applying for a visa, or is that a number I wont get at all?

Most people won't have an Alien number (also called A number) until the visa has been issued. It's printed on the visa as 'USCIS number'.

For myself, I had an A number assigned to me when I got denied the first time at the border right before we filed the I-130. If you've never been through a US visa process, then it's unlikely you have one. It would have been printed on the NOA1 and NOA2.
