NVC Filers - March 2012

I e-filed back in February but didn't mail my payment until March 17th. I have never written that big a check in my life. I got the return receipt for it but I have no idea how long it takes for the transcript to be available.

so from what I gather, I should just update my I-864, and remove 2008 return from there. Add 2011 return in it. I will remove part 7 as it is optional. and for supporting documents, I will prepare the tax return for 2011 and the transcripts that I have for 2010 and 2009. I also have my employment letter. Regarding the paystubs, how far back should I go? How many should I send? They are already in PDF format so easy for me to attach. I was going to add bank statements before but will leave it out now. I also had stock portfolios which I won't bother attaching now.

What I have:

1. Cover letter

2. I-864

3. Tax return 2011

4. Tax Transcript 2010

5. Tax Transcript 2009

6. Employment letter

7. Pay stubbs

What else should I add?

Hmm, not to sure how long it takes for a transcript to be available if you have to send money. They might have to process the payment first before being able to get a transcript. Might take a bit then. While you're waiting, I'd suggest you start scanning the long tax return just in case. And I guess in your case, since you're self-employed, there are no W2s for you...

Yes, if you're not going to fill out the assets (which I don't suggest since you said your income is sufficient), then don't include bank statements. This will confuse NVC. The same thing for stock portfolios, don't bother. You can have them for the interview, just in case, but for NVC, not necessary.

For the pay stubs, do yours have a YTD amount on them? If so, then you really only need one. If not, then just send a few months worth. It doesn't have to be any insane amount. Since pay stubs themselves are optional, you can choose to send how many you want.

The only thing you're missing is the bar-coded cover sheet, but that's only available after you pay the AOS bill.

"All documentation necessary to complete the National Visa Center's processing of your case has been received. As soon as an interview date has been scheduled, the applicant, petitioner and attorney (if applicable) will be notified."

WOOO CASE COMPLETE - Now to wait for that important phone call!

What dates did you email the AOS and IV packages? I'd like to have my spreadsheet as up to date as possible yes.gif

Greetings everyone,

So I recevied my NVC Case number on 3.23.2012. I was also able to get the Invoice number and provided our email addresses. However, I am not sure if I need to send the DS3032 email due to hiring a new lawyer?

I also received an error message when I attempted to access the payment portal, but thanks to the information found on here, this should be good news?!

so I just called the NVC, mostly because I wanted to know what the process is like. Do they always make you wait so long before you can talk to someone? The person seemed much nicer and polite. They told me that they have not received it yet and to wait 15 business days for it. I will wait till friday and then call again.

Question, What is the AVR? I assume automated voice response or something. But how do you reach that? I assume you need case number to use that?

Grats on getting your case number!

Have you told NVC about this new lawyer? If not, you have to. You'll probably have to send a DS-3032 in this case, electing your lawyer as agent.

And yes, if you're getting a SIF, then it's possible they're invoicing the AOS bill.

I was looking at your timeline. Did you really get your I-130 petition approved LAST YEAR? What took so long for your case to get to NVC? blink.gif

Depending on when you call, it might take awhile. I always called at 5pm EST; I got through in 5 minutes or less.

The AVR is the Automated Voice Response system. And as of the last 3 weeks or so, you've been unable to reach it anymore. You were able to use either the USCIS receipt number or the NVC case number, once assigned. Now it seems your only option to stay up-to-date is through an operator.

I was looking at your timeline. Did you really get your I-130 petition approved LAST YEAR? What took so long for your case to get to NVC?

Our case was forwarded to the Atlanta Local Field Office for an interview, and due my husband being in deportation proceedings...Atlanta sent our file to ICE after the approval. So, we had to wait for my husband to complete his VD order before they would send our file back to USCIS. Very frustrating!
