Dear US Government,

I did my civic duty by simulating the economy with my federal tax return. Now I wish to reduce the national deficit by $500.00, by paying the fees to bring my husband to our country. Please remit an invoice by 5:00pm today.

I anxiously await your reply.

Sincerely,

Fed Up US Citizen

You can get Cadbury Eggs in America! Hold out for something more Canadian! Like Coffee Crisp Eggs!

My husband has already been instructed to buy me some, and bring them to Montreal. If he forgets, we won't need the interview, he'll be divorced! :P

Got the PM. And I replied, asking for the PDF contents. No rush. And I don't need/want the false checklist no0pb.gif

First off, grats on your very recent NOA2! And welcome to this "prestigious and elitest" thread :D

1. Since you just got it on Friday, I'd suggest giving it one week; so start calling next Monday. Gotta give time for NVC to receive it from USCIS and input it in their system.

2. I'm sure by the time you actually have to send in your AOS package, you'll have received your tax transcript. When did you file for 2011? Have you gotten the refund yet? If for whatever reason, you have NOT gotten the 2011 transcript in time, you have to include the WHOLE return (1040 as well as all schedules) AND W2s. And if your income is more than sufficient, then don't worry about the assets portion as it's optional. Just put zeros everywhere.

Well I didn't have a refund rather I had to make a payment (hence the depletion of my assets). They cashed my check last Tuesday. By last friday a transcript was not available. I would hate to scan in all those pages of the tax return. I had a complicated case (self employed with no estimated payments)

I got my NOA2 on a friday (3/16/12) and called by the monday, i couldn't wait. I say give it until wednesday of this week. More than likely they will receive your package by today. They received my package the 3/19/12. Wednesday should be sufficient time, but if you are patient you could give it a week.

Well i have nothing but patience now after waiting for NOA2

Woot, woot. Hopefully you can log on later today and it'll be there, ready to be paid yes.gif

Oh, whoops. I asked about the refund to know if your return was processed, and looks like it has. Just keep checking, you should be able to request a transcript soon. And once you do, it usually only takes a week to receive it, which should be plenty of time before you have to send out the AOS package. And I can understand your reasons for wanting the transcript over the tax returns. I hear self-employment returns get lengthy. Plus, NVC prefers them over returns anyways, whether they're short or long.

lol ya, my tax returns are like 26 pages long being self-employed. Much easier to scan in the 6 page transcript! If they cashed your check, it shouldn't be too much longer. I could get my transcript a full day after I received my refund direct deposit. It did take forever for them to process my return. I sent it on Feb 2 e-file, and it wasn't processed until March 13!
