Oh, didn't know NVC had emails for the DS-261 acceptance. Good to know! Any chance you still have the email and can PM me the contents (redacting your personal info of course)? I'd like to update my wiki if possible.

Of course now I can't find that email, but I remember setting eyes on text that said "your choice of agent has been accepted" and my "about me" page says I got it on Jan. 18 with nothing else happening that day...hopefully I didn't concoct this memory...I'll keep looking.

I also got an email invoices for both bills on the same days that they posted. Do you want those too? The content of the emails is all the same (blah blah contains confidential information blah blah), and the bills are attached as pdfs.

EDIT: Yeah, I can't find it, and my trash is deleted every 30 days so that only goes back to the end of Feb. So take my memory with a grain of salt on that one. Both invoices are there though.

laughing.gif I hope you're not imagining things! :P

And yes, I'll take the invoice ones too as I never got those laughing.gif All I got were: initial information package, DS-230 package, optin acceptance, case complete, and interview letter. I never got: either of the invoices, DS-261 acceptance, or AOS package.

Hi everybody,

I've been lurking so far, but now am going to finally ask a question. Sorry if it's already answered somewhere in the thread, but I've only made it to like page 25....there is too much to read!

Anyways, I got my NOA on March 14th, and just called the NVC and they said they received my file on the 21st, but that they wouldn't have a case number for me for a least another 1-2 weeks. Is this normal?

Thanks!

Don't believe their time frames they state. They're WAY off. It's quite possible you'll get your case number this week. Just keep calling every day and inquiring.

Hello everyone,

For months I have been waiting to join one of these prestigious and elitest NVC threads. Now I can finally be part of it after receiving my NOA2 Friday night.

I have 2 questions as of now.

1) Should I start calling the NVC from today?

2) I had prepared my I-864 package earlier. I had included my bank balance and statments in there also. two things have happened since then. 1. I filed my 2011 tax return. 2. My bank balance has reduced significantly after paying the aformentioned taxes. I have been trying to get the transcript from the IRS for the 2011 year but so far no luck. I suppose I will have to fill out a new I-864. Do I just attach my 1040 with the package or do I have to attach the whole return? Should I bother with the bank statement and assets? What should I enter in Part 7? My income is more than sufficient.

1. You can probably give it a week or so before you need to call. They have to receive the package in the mail and then enter it into their system.

2. You don't have to bother with assets if your income is enough, but you will need to submit at least your 1040 and W2 if you aren't going to get a transcript for 2011. You'll probably have to submit any other forms you sent with your 1040 as well.

1) wait about a week, then start calling. It will take that long for NVC to receive your file.

2) Use your 2011 return since you have filed it. You file the WHOLE return. 1040, W2s, schedules and worksheets. Or get a tax transcript for free. you can order them on line from the IRS and it takes about 10 days to get it. If your income is sufficient, you can leave the asset and back account portion blank.

Read the first two posts of the thread for important information! A lot of your questions will be answered.

First off, grats on your very recent NOA2! And welcome to this "prestigious and elitest" thread :D

1. Since you just got it on Friday, I'd suggest giving it one week; so start calling next Monday. Gotta give time for NVC to receive it from USCIS and input it in their system.

2. I'm sure by the time you actually have to send in your AOS package, you'll have received your tax transcript. When did you file for 2011? Have you gotten the refund yet? If for whatever reason, you have NOT gotten the 2011 transcript in time, you have to include the WHOLE return (1040 as well as all schedules) AND W2s. And if your income is more than sufficient, then don't worry about the assets portion as it's optional. Just put zeros everywhere.

I got my NOA2 on a friday (3/16/12) and called by the monday, i couldn't wait. I say give it until wednesday of this week. More than likely they will receive your package by today. They received my package the 3/19/12. Wednesday should be sufficient time, but if you are patient you could give it a week.
