Does the Father of the child need to be a born US citizen or can he be a US citizen by naturalization? because my husband was born here in philippines and just acquired his US citizenship last year, will our child be a US citizen upon admission ?

I believe that, yes, as long as he's a US citizen (whether naturalized or born in the US), then the child will become a US citizen as well. I doubt USCIS would restrict it to only those born in the US.

ThANK YOU SO MUCH!!! i AM NEW FILLERS WE JUST ILLED PETITION THIS MONTH .

Grats on filing your petition. Hopefully we'll see you in about 5 months or less when you get to NVC (as this thread is for NVC filers).

Quick question, do we get any kind of email when the DS-261 is accepted, or we just know when we get our invoice email or the SIF on the payment portal?

I never got an email. I found out my DS-261 was accepted through the AVR. But since that's down, you're probably only going to find out through the payment portal when the IV is invoiced. I never got any invoice emails, so don't be relying on that. The payment portal is the best way to know your DS-261 was accepted.

I log in about every hour, just hoping for that SIF and knowing we'll get invoiced soon!

NVC site is really slow this morning, I wonder why? lol

I got an email when the DS-261 was accepted, 6 days after we filled it out (including a weekend), and the IV bill was invoiced 2 days later.

Uh oh blink.gif That would explain the slowness you were experiencing headbonk.gif Hopefully NVC finishes quickly with their maintenance. Perhaps upon its return, the payment portal will reveal to you an invoiced IV bill.

It's never to early to call! I found out my CC was on Thursday. I called the very next day inquiring about an interview date!

I got an email when the DS-261 was accepted, 6 days after we filled it out (including a weekend), and the IV bill was invoiced 2 days later.

Oh, didn't know NVC had emails for the DS-261 acceptance. Good to know! Any chance you still have the email and can PM me the contents (redacting your personal info of course)? I'd like to update my wiki if possible.

That'd be amazing if your dream cam true!

I remember back when I was at NVC waiting for a CC that I told my husband our interview would be the first Tuesday of May. A few weeks later when our interview was scheduled, it was for May 3rd, the first Tuesday in May. I was like blink.gif woah, I'm psychic! laughing.gif

Would be amazing! It was one of those weird dreams, you know...right when you just go back to sleep after waking up an hour too early, right when you're half conscious? I sure hope it's right but I won't hold my breath LOL.

You knew your interview date?! Wow...was that some amazing stats work, or did you just have a feeling - or a very good guess? :)
