NVC Filers - March 2012

Going to start calling for my interview date next week. I've enjoyed the time off, and I'm one less determined control freak they've had to deal with

Getting my AOS papers together to send to my joint sponsor (dad) and in the section about assets (which doesn't apply to me) I wrote N/A with a BLUE pen...right after doing it I realized that NVC might not like the blue ink...any thoughts? I just don't want to get a checklist b/c of ink color

Other than that, I will be sending the following to my dad on Monday when the post office opens:

-Barcode page

-Cover letter

-I-864 form

-2011 tax returns

-letter showing acceptance to grad school with fellowship covering costs + stipend

-my birth certificate

Then my dad just has to fill out 864, attach 3 years of taxes and copy of passport.

Blue ink is fine, don't worry about it. I actually suggest blue over black since black might make the form appear as a copy.

Also, I see you're sending in 2011 tax returns. I hope you have all schedules included if applicable (1099, etc) AND your W2s. If you don't send in everything, NVC will issue a checklist. That's why tax transcripts are preferred as there's less papers to send in.

I understand what u said Saylin, i am just trying to figure out what could possibly happened if I do not receive the checklist this weekend. I do not know what to expect on monday when I'm gonna call. What are the chances to hear : documments has been found sir and your case is completed.?

I work for a brazilian company so I don't have any w-2s. I filed the 2555 (tax form for USC living abroad) that is attached to my 1040. Hoping I don't have any issues with NVC (or the IRS ) From my research online, those were the only forms I need so I'm crossing my fingers I got it right

That won't happen. Like I said in my previous post to you: NVC will not re-check a package unless 1. you request a supervisor for the package to be re-checked or 2. you send in the checklist response. Since you didn't understand me the first time, please re-read my last sentence again and again until you do. If it were me, I'd send in the checklist response asap. It's usually faster than a supervisor review as that can take a few days, and if they did indeed lost it, then you would have to send the response in anyways.

Ah, didn't know you were working for a Brazilian company. Make sure you mention that in the cover letter (in case they actually read it). I don't what happens in your kind of situation, so the best of luck to you!

They've generated it already, it just takes a few days for their servers to send it to you. There have been a few checklists in this thread, and it's usually 2-3 days to receive it. And you can look at their checklists that they posted, it has the address on them for where to send it.

Hey saylin im now a march nvc'er got noa2 dated yesterdayill be out on my honey moon in mexico until april 12th u think i should call them while in down there to get my.

Case and iin #'s? or can i wait until i am back? Since ill be goin to juarez for interview im assuming ill be doing EP and i do not want to jeoperdize anything because i didnt call them any insight would be appreciated thanks

I repeat what I told you in another thread, you do not need this document, only the marriage certificate. The other one is for couples who are not married yet, and are following another procedure.

So, I am looking over the embassy website at what is necessary for the interview and they state that you will need to bring ORIGINAL birth certificate, marriage certificate, ETC. even if it's been sent to USCIS...

Order of Documents for the Interview

Important Notice for Immediate Relatives, Family and Employment-Based Processes:

On the day of your interview please provide the Application for Immigrant and Alien Registration (DS 230‐II) ‐ Sworn Statement completely and carefully filled out. Please provide original of the documents listed below.

Please note: Applicants must bring all original documents to the interview, even where those documents were already sent to USCIS with the petition. There are no exceptions.

1. Valid passport (at least eight months validity remaining);

2. Birth certificate (even for married, divorced or widowed applicants). For applicants born in Korea or Taiwan, a "Family Register" followed with an official translation into English is requested with a simple copy;

3. Marriage Certificate (if applicable) with a simple copy;

4. Divorce Decree (if applicable) with a simple copy;

5. Death Certificate from previous spouses (if applicable) with a simple copy;

6. Military Certificate with a simple copy;

7. Police Certificate(s) - In Brazil you need two: from the Federal Police and the State Police (Secretaria de Segurança Pública) with a simple copy;

8. Affidavit of Support (Form I‐864 or I‐134) or Job letter (whichever is applicable) including supporting documents. (If the Affidavit has not been previously sent to NVC along with the petitioner's last federal tax forms);

uhhh, let me check if I understand this: Even though I send originals to NVC, somehow I should have spare originals to bring with me to the interview? Is this the same procedure at other embassys?

Usually, these go to the Petitioner, the person listed as the 'Agent of Choice' from the DS-3032.

When I said get to me I am talking my wife, I do not have to make the difference, wow! She does need to come here, I am the one taking care of the process.
