NVC Filers - March 2012

Does anyone know how to download the form DS-230 in a way that you "SAVE" it and continue at a later time?

My sister was able to do it but she is in TX, and I'm in FL and I haven't been able to get in touch with her to find out how she did it.

Every time I try typing a DS-230 I have to do the whole thing in "ONE SITTING" and print it out because it says: It would not let me save any data on the form. On the other hand, the I-864 DOES ALLOW me to save data.

Any suggestions? Thanks!

You can't save it once filled in, and it's a big PITA. Maybe your sister used an older version.

One thing you can do is print it to PDF once you're done to keep an electronic copy of the final version, but then you can't go back to it and make corrections.

I think I probably filled it out about 10 times, always finding a mistake AFTER I had printed it out and closed the file. I hate this form

Did you fill in the assets portion?

I think it should be fine, for the reason I stated in my last post to you.

You can include a cover letter if you wish, just explaining that what you're sending is a checklist response along with what you're sending. But this is optional.

Other than that, your list is good

You can try with another supervisor, or just send in the form again. Unfortunately, NVC sometimes "loses" documents. It happens.

My wife will resend it tomorrow ( saturday ) and by Monday, they should receive it. I hope we got our CC the same monday as i was told they see everything was alright

Hey Guys, My NOA 2 was on the 21st of March and I was waiting for the NVC April Fourms (Seeing most of my journey will be in April) BUT now i have a question.

I filled out the DS-230 Form scanned it to my husband in Trinidad for him to review, sign n send to me ahead of time becuz mail takes so long to get to the USA from there (im still waiting on my valentines day card, i considered it lost ) My problem now is that the form is Expired. I gotta do it all over, right?

hold up!!!!! wait a minute!!!!! I just notice that the new form expires on 03/31/12 aye caramba. so this mean i have to wait for the form with and april experation date to come out. i guess i was a little over prepared.

I got an email from NVC a couple of hours ago informing me that I could pay may AOS. I was able to login to the payment portal and I paid the $88. I was then taken to the receipt page where one of the options is print document cover sheet. If I understand correctly I print out this cover sheet and submit it with the I-864 along with the required documentation. My question is do I have to wait for the payment to show complete or can I send off the documents now that I have the cover sheet?

Saylin told us to wait till it appears Paid.Im going to submite mine tomorrow.(my AOS shows paid today.

Saylin, this is what i figured, why can't I just send back the AOS form and fill out zero's for assets since we have a joint sponsor anyways and avoid the extra paperwork? i was just thinking that because we listed it to begin with and now i'm not going to send it, it might look shady no? It's just that i have two bank accounts and my husband has one, so it's a lot of extra paperwork for them to go through and potentially slow them down even more no?

Yes, just fill out a new I-864 with out the assets and bank accounts since you have a joint sponsor. My husband could have used our checking account and his RSPs, bonds and CDs to cover our asset portion but it was less of a headache to just leave it blank since we have a joint sponsor.

Send your package when it shows as "Paid." I don't know if this is a rule somewhere or not, but it just makes sense to do and it only takes a couple of days.

The Answer is: Open the DS-230 using ADOBE ACROBAT PRO Vs the Conventional ADOBE READER that most people use and VOILA!

I filled-in and saved all my PDFs using Foxit. It was free and it's awesome. I use it at work too.

Hmm, just called NVC again to see if I got my case #. Operator Tessa told me that my case was received on the 19th (2 days earlier than I was previously told) and that it wasn't scanned yet. No case number yet...

you can just save it to your computer, and then it will save, it will never save if you open it in a browser, only in pdf format from your computer.
