More good news! Just checked my e-mail... got my NVC e-mails AND AND AND AOS is showing up online! I guess all that b.s. was just the precursor to being invoiced.

My long form is legal size, massive.

Mine is too. It has a border, I managed to get it on the scanner where the important stuff showed and it cut off the borders. USCIS took it, so I guess it's all good!

Note on the cover page: "Direct Scan of Beneficiary Long Form Birth Certificate (sorry, the thing was huge as sh*t. forgive me for the crappy shop job i did on paint to join the two halves together. peace!)"

Keep in mind, just cause it was accepted at USCIS doesn't give you a 100% guarantee it will be accepted at NVC.

Actually we received an invitation to a wedding in the US (well, Colin received it) and it was also sent to "Mr and Mrs Colin H." I figured the USA wouldn't be a place where women still accept to be their husband's belonging!!

Writing on the back of photo paper with pencil is a huge challenge. Not something one would normally have to deal with.

Can I just do this in fine-tipped sharpie? With pencil it makes me look like a 6 year old on crack.

I wrote with a pen, both at USCIS and NVC stages, and it didn't seem to bother anyone. You just can't write on photo paper with a pencil!

As NVC were closed one day last week, I decided to give you an extra day before sending cleaner for your crystal ball and the email came this afternoon.

My husband insisted I took his last name. It really didn't bother me much, I'm kind of old fashioned that way. I got all giddy the first time I got an invitation with Mr. & Mrs. T. Sheeshka lol

The birth certificate thing; I waited on an RFE for that one. I'm the USC and have a passport now, no need for the huge a$$ birth certificate.

Hubby's is small and plastic, with the see through windows, like the new Canadian $100 bills. It's pretty cool.

His birth certificate is small and plastic? I think you're going to need the long form to get through NVC (pretty sure USCIS doesn't require a birth certificate from the beneficiary, but NVC does). Seems like the only difference between the long and short form is that the parents' names are on the long form, but NVC seems to want that.

It's the long form, just smaller, it's about the size of a half sheet of paper. It's not plastic like credit card plastic, almost like the old shiny newspaper paper but more durable. If you've seen the new $100 bills, you'd see what I'm talking about.

His short form is about credit card size and same kind of plastic.
