I am updating myself in the payment portal but when i signed in last night a prompt appears and it says this way..This case is in the process of termination. Fee payments and online forms can no longer be accepted. If you believe you have received this message in error, or to resume processing of the case, please contact the NVC immediately.--i called the NVC and they told me the case is active, but why did i got this kind of message and i cant open the invoice payment..help me with this please.

As I've seen elsewhere, you will be able to log in tomorrow. Apparently NVC is in the process of uploading your information and you cannot get into that portal while it is in that mode. Nothing to worry about.

Careful guys... there's a difference between a recommendation and something you MUST do. The DOS website states (as Saylin quotes within the first 2 posts) that translations are NOT required necessarily. Either English or the official language where the consulate is (where the interview will take place). I also called 2 different NVC operators to confirm that translations are NOT required. There's nothing wrong with getting/submitting a translation, but its not required. Just sayin...

wow, hard to believe, but i just called NVC and the lady pretty much barked back at me that NO TRANSLATIONS ARE NEEDED. Only the original documents??? Could this really be true??

Whether or not translations are needed can be Embassy/Consulate specific. Despite what NVC operators and what the NVC website say, the Consulate in Guangzhou requires translations.

I have an AOS question :)

I live with my husband in Brazil and don't make above the poverty line, so my dad in the US will be our joint sponsor. Do you think it will make a difference if I send in the tax returns that I will file for 2011 ONLY. I ask this for two reasons. One is my brother filed my 2010 taxes for me and listed me as single even though I got married in 2010. I am worried that NVC may have issues with this. Number two is that my address on file with the IRS is an address I no longer live at and in order to change my address I have to mail them a form and it is going to delay my AOS process quite a bit (send change of address form, wait for it to be processed, request transcripts, wait for it to be delivered). Since I am using a joint sponsor and the instructions say only the past year returns are required, do you think I will encounter any problems?

I am also going to include my letter of acceptance to a masters program in the US and my financial aid letter that shows full ride with monthly stipend of 2250. Also, I will ask my dad to include three years of taxes, just to be safe. Should that be enough to get the AOS through??

Sending just 2011 is fine. You can send either the last year or the last three years. So you're meeting that requirement.

And as long as your dad makes enough for your household size, you're good to go.
