Not sure I should be worried I sent the DS-3032 email 2 days ago, this is the same as OPTIN correct? I sent it to the NVC inquiry email and I got the automated response from NVC. Should I have gotten a different response? Thanks

I think the reason that some operators refuse to give the IIN is because they can tell that the case is not ready to be invoiced. The operator I spoke with yesterday told me that the case has to go through a QA process before the invoice will be generated. My guess is that someone has to verify the information that was input into the NVC systems when the case number and IIN were generated before they accept payment.

Having said that the operators should give out the IIN number when they have it, otherwise they are just asking for us to keep calling back. We know that the invoice won't appear right away, but at least we can check as often as we want to see when it does finally get invoiced.

I wonder if the NVC operators know when they are talking to someone from the VJ forums because we know what things to ask for where most outside of immigration attorneys would have no clue.

I'm thinking no.... Most of those operators just read from a script and seem to not be able to think...

BAHAHAHAHAHA...they accepted BOTH optin emails. :bonk::dance: Just had to resend the birth certificate because I didn't have enough information in my original email. They should take it now too, no issues. Whee!

i have the same date as you, i just call once a day. just say you are trying to see if your case has been received and give your receipt number that what i do, then they say no and i say ok thanks. few of them ask the date when you do it that way.

By the way I just called and they received my case, it hasn't been uploaded as yet and no case number either. Probably you are in the same batch with me, so they might have received it now.

Glad you got it fixed laughing.gif The forms and documents are still readable at 150?

And yes, everyone seems to WANT to give their money away at this point rofl.gif

Yup! I was worried about that so I did a test scan before I sat down and scanned 42 pages one by one on a flat bed.

oh another FYI.. if using a flat bed, make sure the glass is clean :) (One of my kids musta tried to scan a PB&J sammich at one point!)

I'll gladly give them my money for my husband! I'm sick of paying people to change the oil in my car :P

I have seen the word "OPTIN" severally now. Is this for those who are eligible for EP? Also I have seen a few posts about "scanning pages, some 42" and also talk of the "resolution" of those documents.

Can someone please fill me in. It's hard to catch what y'all are talking about. Thanks.

Okay everyone, I have the awesomest of news, if there's such a word. My husband just spoke to an operator at NVC and got the confirmation that our case is officially closed. He was so shocked, that he asked the operator if he knew what he was talking about. In reply, the operator said yes, the case if officially closed, we did try sending it to the Mumbai consulate but it bounced back as there isn't a date available for an April interview. He's asked us to call again in two weeks' time or so for a May interview date. I so hope we get an early May slot!!! kicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gifkicking.gif I can't dance enough!

Wow! Congratulations! It took them One Day to complete and to send it to Mumbai, that's awesome! I also sent my RFE on the 20th, hopefully, I got the same reviewer

LOL yep...optin emails are to opt into the EP processing...that's been a hot topic lately with the amount of Canadian case numbers being issued lately :) As for the scanning pages - that's for the AOS package, we scan in our documents but each scanned file has to be under a certain size so we have to play with the resolution of the scanner.

Some countries are eligible for EP. Canada is one of them. We scan in our documents to email to NVC and they look at our originals at the interview. The package can not exceed 10mb, so we have to be careful how we scan them in so we do not have too large of a file.

Mine is 42 pages because A. I have a co-sponsor B. I'm self-employed so my tax documents are novels.
