My mom surprised me with a new luggage set... I hope my husband's car will be able to handle everything

I was barely able to get all my stuff in my dad's car when he drove me to Vermont where my rental was waiting. I literally had stuff piled on me as my dad drove to the border.

Quick question for any VJ Expert (Sayliiin! LOL) ...

When we went through the I-130 Stage, we qualified to have our case expedited and it was approved back then. Now, once I sent the IV package (Which is the last step we have pending) and once our case is completed @ NVC, Can we submit the same expedite to get our Interview date scheduled? Do we do this through NVC or the Embassy? Who do we call or what is the procedure for accomplish this?

For some reason I had been thinking all this time that the expedite was only good for the USCIS stage, but can it be used again for this very last step?

Any answers or more detailed information is greatly appreciated.

Each process requires its own expedite. The expedite doesn't carry over at all from USCIS. As soon as you got your case number, you should have requested an expedite, like Neela just did. You can still request an expedite though. Send an email to NVC with your request and reason for such, and they'll forward it on to the consulate/embassy.

I'd already filed it out and signed it... and the scanner was just looking at me and begging me to use it!

Hi all, I'm new to this, so sorry if my questions have been answered already, but I am waiting for my case number (NVC said they have my file, just not in the system yet...) and preparing the AOS and IV papers. Since it's coming up on tax time, I'm curious if anyone knows if we should fill out the 864 with 2011 tax info, or just use the 2010 data.

Also, if I cannot keep calling daily to get the case number, who do they send it to? Hopefully it will be as an email!

Thank you!!!

Up until April 17th, you can use 2010 tax information. But if you have 2011 tax info, then I'd suggest using that as you'll need it at the interview, which will be after April 17th.

I sure did! And it only took one call, I got me and my sons case numbers!! Yay!!! :D

Now since we been using a lawyer she will recive an email with all this info, but since I like to be ahead I emailed her as soon as I got off the phone. Told her that we got our case numbers and this and that... She's been good and fast with everything so I know she'll get on it asap

Grats!

Did you get the IIN? And give over the email addresses to an operator?

Congrats!! :):dance::dance:Did you get the IIN and BIN too? :)

Sounds like you have a good lawyer - that's awesome! Hopefully she keeps the ball moving :D

Only those eligible for online forms need the BIN. For everyone else, it's a completely useless number.

Hi everyone,

I received my NOA2 on the 16th of March and although it hasn't been a week from it yet, I call NVC once a day to see if my file is with them. Every operator asks my notice date and tells me to call in 15 work days. Do you guys give a different NOA2 date to get an answer? Or are there angelic operators who give you info regardless of your NOA2 date?

I'm sorry if this question was asked before. I've been reading the thread for like an hour but gave up after the 90th page or something :innocent:

I would never lie and give them a false date. Just know that all operators have a basic time frame that they tell everyone. Just keep calling once a day and giving your USCIS number.

It takes about 10 days to get an NVC number. Just keep calling :)

My opt-in email was accepted this morning. I still can not log on to fill out the DS-261.. but I'm sure we will be able to soon!!

Wow, that was fast! Still pisses me off I waited 16 days for my optin approval headbonk.gif

And keep trying that portal. You should be able to log in soon. I was able to log in the same day as the AOS was invoiced. Not sure if both of those are linked. If that's the case, then you might be waiting a bit as it usually takes a few days now for the AOS to be invoiced.

Please don't repost the same question.

Everyone has to realise that people are in different timezones, and if you post late at night/early in the morning for the US, I CANNOT answer. I SLEEP during the night. So, please, be patient with your questions. If you're not patient, maybe I'll stop answering questions when they're posted twice... ranting33va.gif

This depends on whether or not you have filed your 2011 tax return. The filing deadline this year is 4/17, so if you send your AOS before that you won't be required to list your 2011 income. You may need to show either a copy of your 2011 tax return or your 2011 tax transcript at your interview since it will likely be after 4/17.

You are required to provide a copy of your most recent tax year. You can either provide a copy of the tax transcript or a copy of your tax return along with your W2s from that year.

I will be sending my AOS with 2011-2009 tax information. I filed my 2011 tax return 3 weeks ago along with a W-7 so my wife could get an ITIN since I filed married filing jointly. I was told by the IRS accepting agent that it would take 8-10 weeks to process the W-7 and an additional 6-8 weeks to process my paper tax return. I got her ITIN in the mail on Monday and checked the IRS site last night and it said my tax return had been processed and the funds would be in my bank account by Friday. Now if only USCIS worked like that, say it will take 14-18 weeks and then deliver in 3 weeks :)

Saylin, quick question. I recently lost my job and am having to trouble hubby for every small thing in terms of money. It would make it so much easier for both of us if I could join him real quick, for I'm at a stage in the process where it doesn't make sense for me to be looking for a job here in India. Being the beneficiary, would my case qualify for an expedite at this stage?

I suggest you use 2011, 2010, and 2009.

Send a copy of 2011 return you filed.

Send Transcripts of 2010, 2009.

My situation:

I recently filed AOS with Transcripts from 2010, 2009, and 2008 and I also included a copy of 2011 return.

Result: I got a Checklist for not including 2011 amount in I-864.

Solution: I had to redo the I-864 and use Total income amount from 2011, 2010, and 2009.

The NVC "supervisor" told me that you don't necessarily need Transcript but a copy of return is fine (I don't know if this true) and since i did file 2011 and also included a copy of it. That means i had to include it.

You get what i'm saying?

I Hope this helps you in avoiding Checklist like me.

-Best Wishes :)

You can try, but it might not get approved.

I had absolutely no money either when I was waiting for my visa. I had no job at all for those 9 months. But, I was living with my dad, so I didn't need to worry about rent or food or anything.

Do you live on your own?

I only had 30 for the AOS, scanned at probably the highest setting in color, but once reduced (was originally 20+ MB) it was only 8MB...

Hi again all...

I got my case number and IIN today (YAY!).

I want to get our DS-3032 in, and I know it should be emailed. Am I correct in understanding that I use the email template and simply send the email to the NVC inquiry email address? With no attachment or signatures at all?

I apologize for this ridiculous question, but it just feels so....weird...to not fill out some long form, and then sign and mail it.

Thanks for your help (and patience).

Please tell me it isn't so. Did I miss something.

I called and got my Case Number Yeah!!

HOWEVER.

When I asked for the Invoice Identification Number and the Beneficiary Number, the lady told me that it's not time to do anything yet. In fact and I quote she said " that is why I don't like to give those number before we are ready" That I will receive an email with the rest of the information. When I asked when approximately that will happen, she said give them 5 to 10 days. WTH!! Every body who is in the same timeline with me, @sheeskabell, @trav&shell, @matt&rocio got all three. I am going to call again in a few hours in hope for a different operator.

In the meantime, I will send in my choice of agent by email.

So pissed off!! :crying:
