No. It is actually in a text book I have. I knew I kept that pharmacy law book for something other than a door stop!

It's actually something we discussed in class. My law instructor was pretty entertaining, well, because law is boring.. she told us we'll find forms with expired OMB dates all the time and to go with the flow. Fill out the form they tell you to fill out.

The only federal forms I deal with every day are for the narcotics and my first day in a hospital pharmacy we had DEA forms with an OMB of 2005. (we have stacks of these in the supply room)

The OMB dates are usually good for three years. Then they put out a 'new' form. The OMB registration number stays the same, the form stays the same but the date changes.

Sometimes they do issue new forms in a different format and the DEA will accept the old ones, but you'll get an email about how they don't like it.

Apparently DEA form 225 inventory of narcotics to be destroyed hasn't changed since 2005.

That's also when they told us to stop dumping morphine down the sink and actually send it to be incinerated

On the back of the passport-sized photos I wrote NVC Case #, beneficiary's DOB, and Name.

I saw several people on VJ who got Checklist because of this so thats why i wrote those infos on back of the passport photos.

I included all documents in paper sheet protectors and all in a binder. Didn't use any paper clips, i should have.

I also used sticky notes to point out any important infos.

hahhahah, TIA, amazing, i will, just paid IV invoice and went over the entire ds230 with my hubby, who is also trying to calm me down. feeling good. he will be sending it. can't he just send two copies of everything?? including cover sheets and all that is included in the package? i am confused on which documents to copy and which to not: here is the list:

1) Cover letter stating what is in this package

2) Barcode sheet

3) DS-230 form part I (signed) and II (not signed)

4) 2 passport size photo of the beneficiary

5) Beneficiary Birth Certificate (Original)

6) Copy of Birth Certificate

7) Certified copy of our marriage Certificate

8) Copy of Certified copy of our marriage certificate

9) Original Police Certificate (only one since he has a clean record)

10) Copy of original police certificate

11) Copy of biographic page of the beneficiary's passport.

12) Beneficiary's Original Birth Certificate

13) Copy of Beneficiary's original birth certificate

Am I missing anything?

also, i DID not write my case number on all of the documents but they are all stapled as it was mentioned and then paper clipped together...will i get an RFE for the AOS??? I will tell my husband to write the case number on all documents, but there are no instructions for DS 230 as there were for AOS (and AOS DID NOT state to write case number on each page)does he write the case number on the originals?? On the NVC website it says this "You and each family member immigrating with you to the United States must submit to the NVC original documents issued by an appropriate authority, or certified copies of those documents listed in this section." So is it the originals or the copies or both??? Also, does he include DS 2001? (please don't yell at me if these questions are repetative or silly

That's really interesting though. Never learned so much about OMB dates until today!

Make sure you have the bar-coded cover sheet first, before the cover letter. The bar-coded cover sheet has to be the first thing NVC sees.

For the passport photos, are the beneficiary's full name, date of birth, and case number written on the back?

I'm confused about 12+13 as it's the same thing as 5+6. Did you mean to write something else?

About writing case numbers on forms/documents: you don't HAVE to. The reason why I and other VJ members suggest it is in case a paper gets loose and gets detached from the case. If the case number is written on the top right, then it can easily be re-united. I would suggest writing the case number on all forms/documents. I did this, and mine were sent by email! As for writing it on originals/certified copies, I suggest doing it this way: write the case number on a sticky note and attach that to the top right of the civil document.

And yes, again, you include the ORIGINAL/CERTIFIED COPY of each civil document as well as a color PHOTOCOPY. The reason for this is so you can get your originals/certified copies back and USCIS will retain a copy for their own records.

DS-2001 is for K1 cases I believe...

oh, #######, i put my own cover letter first on the AOS form, i figured since the Bar coded sheet is included in my own cover letter, it wouln't make chronological sense to put it after. i better not get an rfe for something that minute. grrrrr. and yes, for birth certificate, i duplicated, my bad. i will tell my hubby to sticky note the case number on all sheets...you think the bar coded thing will be an issue with AOS? would they really take the time to send an rfe for that??

thanks as always

On an unrelated topic, but still to due with my wife, I submitted a W-7 along with my 2011 tax return 3 weeks ago. I was told by the IRS accepting agent that the W-7 application for an ITIN would take 8-10 weeks this time of year and that once that is done the return will take 6-8 weeks because it is a paper return. I received her ITIN in the mail yesterday and the IRS website says I should get my refund before the end of April.

I would rather have them overestimate the time and deliver early than take longer than they said it would. Those extra 2 months of waiting for USCIS were terrible for me and my wife.

I have a question in regards to this since I'm on the same boat as you, I will be receiving my wife's ITIN and signed Tax Forms this week, so I will be filing it with the IRS right away. I can just make a copy of these papers to submit with the AOS right?

Since I've in previous posts that NVC does not directly check with the IRS, they just want to see that the taxes have been submitted. So I'm thinking sending a copy of the tax forms will be sufficient enough correct?

I don't care much about receiving money from the IRS, I just want to show NVC that I have filed my taxes with my wife's name on them as well, to show more proof of our marriage.
