Tango- nope no interview Steph and I are waiting on our date we just got case complete on Friday.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/topic/302190-dhl-tracking-from-nvc-to-us-embassy/

That is the link on how to find the shipment going out to your embassy... I found one sent out yesterday and coinsidently NVC had mentioned our case was sent out yesterday. But my confusion is that I thought interview date was scheduled before docs were sent out to embassy...someone correct me if I am wrong...

that was my assumption as well. I went through some signatures and I saw that usually interview dates are marked previous than " case received by Embassy".

So today I got through to the Nvc and was told that they got our 2 cases on the 12th but I would have to wait another 10 days cause they were putting them in the system. How on earth do they put stuff in their system, a letter a day?

Every time I call I am given a different answer. Last week on Friday, 16th, I was told "give them 2 weeks". Yesterday, I was told, "give them at least 20 days". Today, I was told, "it takes 2 to 4 weeks".

You have to remember, you're getting a DIFFERENT operator every single time you call. And they each have their own little speech about time frames. Do NOT listen to any time frames. It's always WAY off.

But I don't think it'll be helpful before scheduling an interview, correct? I went through the DHL via the steps btw. So checking that DHL has been out to the embassy would tell me if an interview has been assigned? is that the catch? right? sorry Saylin, I'm just clueless right now waiting for atleast an interview date ( I really don't care when at this point).

No, tracking DHL is just to see if the package arrives at the consulate/embassy. It won't tell you if an interview date has been assigned. The package is either sent before or after an interview date is assigned. In most cases, afterwards. And you can find lots of packages going to your country, but there's no way of knowing it's yours unless you call an operator and ask what day your case was sent out. THEN you can track it. But, again, this is usually done AFTER an interview date has been assigned.

That's just for my spreadsheet! :P You can have whatever you want in your signature! And it'll probably help others in this thread who are following your progress, estimating when they should get their case number. Every date helps on your signature yes.gif

Oooooh...lol...ok, I updated my signature and stuffed it in. Calling NVC again, for more nonsense. :bonk: Hooray! Got to update the I-864 over lunch, like sheeshkabelle did. LOL...thanks for all that info. I had to turn off the email notifications for a bit...wow, this forum is like sensory overload! Ever notice that?

Wow, I love my husband...just throwing it out there. I'm getting worked up because it's not going according to my plan (I heart plans lol), and he says "please don't worry love, it's probably just a small hang up. Nothing to worry about - we'll get it done, it'll be our turn soon!" (L)

i don't agree with this, i was told by NVC to send the attachment SIGNED. And also told not to mail it snail mail, only e-mail ONCE and not resend just because they aren't replying.

1- you should not believe everything NVC operators say like gospel, they are contractors and they know very little about the actual process, many of us have 1st hand experience of this fact.

2- hundreds of people have sent the email template that is linked in the first post of this thread, and their COA was accepted. That includes me. So please don't make new members freak out by saying it doesn't work. It DOES. Just sayin'

I think you're right - I'm pretty near crazy already! :bonk:

Ummm...did that lady just add 4 days to when they received your case? Not cool. Either she can't read, she can't add, or someone made a mistake :(

Same thing had happened to me: first they were telling me case received on 12th, then a few weeks later, it became 16th... I guess 12th was when it was physically received, 16th was when they created the file in their system and started inputting the info.

So I found the tracking waybill for a shipment sent from Boston to Sto. Domingo and I am guessing its ours...how funny!

Now question is I thought the docs were sent to the corresponding embassy after an interview date was scheduled? Is this info right? I called NVC and still have no interview date so I am confused...

Except for a short list of countries, NVC shedules the interview and THEN sends out your case to the embassy via DHL. I don't know about your country but if they say they sent it already, then I guess it's part of the "short list". For most other members, trying to track a package before receiving the interview letter is pointless. The NVC will tell you when your case was sent out, then you can track if you feel like. But you'll never know for sure if your case is in that particular batch.

DO NOT RESEND!!! DO NOT RESEND!!! they specifically tell you to NOT resend.

What? Where do they specifically tell you not to resend? Today I made an error and found a draft waiting to be sent out.

The draft had this in the body, as well as the same documents:

***NOTE*: The previous e-mail I sent NVC on March 16th with my AOS forms contained

a typographic error under the Petitioner's D.O.B. - it should have been "June 4, 1986."

I am resending this e-mail to confirm that all documents sent in both this e-mail and

the last (identical) e-mail are all correct; and that NVC has the correct D.O.B. The only

error made was mine that was in the body of the previous e-mail, used to confirm the

sender of the e-mail. Please proceed with processing/uploading all documents sent in

either the previous "AOS Forms" e-mail I sent on March 16th or those attached in this

e-mail.

Damnit. I clicked send accidentally then figured it didn't make that much difference.

Even Saylin suggested I resend the AOS. (Not blaming you at all :) )

Oh well, time to call them up and try to explain this to some grumpy person.
