i am sorry i do not agree with this calculation. February 10th was the 6th week of the year and the number of week left in the year is 46. bi weekly earn is 960. weekly earn is 480. SO it is 480 times by 46= 22080 ( which is the money she will earn after 46 weeks). at the end to have her annual earn for the year, 3244.98 ( already earned) + 22080 ( will earn in 46 weeks remained ) = 25324.98

Where are you getting this bi-weekly earning of $960.00

Her employment letter dated on Feb 10 states she earned $3244.98. Divide that by 7 = 463.57* 46= $21,324.15

Sorry divide it by 6 = $540.838 weekly * 46= $24,878.18 so $24,879.00 is her yearly income.

OOOOOOH! I get it! The 960.00 is her BEFORE TAX INCOME. The 3244 is AFTER TAXES ARE TAKEN OFF!!! Now it's clear :)

I know. I'm asking Rujby how the income in her case is determined.

For example, hourly pay with 40 hours a week. Or, annual salary based. I'm guessing based on the amount that the pay is determined in her case on an hourly basis.

There is also talk of an employment letter dated Feb 10th. Does this reflect how much had been paid or earned? The difference being the sum of the paychecks from the beginning of the year to that date or the amount of money he/she has actually earned. There is a difference.

In my case I am paid one week in arrears. So my last paycheck would still be lacking one week worth of earnings.

You're right.

$3244.98. Divide that by 6 (sixth week of the year)=540.83 weekly (which would be 1081.66 Bi-weekly) * 52= $28,123.16 GROSS

So take that amount and multiply it by 26 and you have an annual income. 26*960=$24,960.

Yes, I get that. But 540.83 is actually the right weekly amount. She worked 6 weeks of the year by Feb 10/12, not 7 (as Sheeshkabelle pointed out - my bad, sorry!!!). So, 3244.98 divided by 6 is 540.83. For a full year, you need to multiply 540.83 by 52. It looks good :)

Yes, I get that. the 463.57 is what she would have made for all weeks of the year though, after taxes, based on your information. Given the information you have, I did a calculation for 52 weeks - the full year.

Yes, I get that. the 463.57 is what she would have made for all weeks of the year though, after taxes, based on your information. Given the information you have, I did a calculation for 52 weeks - the full year.

Gross pay is amount before taxes.

Net pay is amount after taxes.

I would not recommend using the amount paid as of Feb 10, because the first check of the year most likely included income from the last week of the previous year. Also, it could include overtime pay which can skew the numbers. The key here is to determine the pay rate. It sounds the pay rate in this case is $960 every 2 weeks. That is why I suggest taking that amount and multiply by 26 to get the annual income.
