Saylin,

1) If the operator say that my AOS has been reviewed and accepted, then what do i tell the operator?

thanks and hang up?

Have you called as yet? because I've been trying to speak with an operator about the same thing for the last 45 minutes......

- No, not yet. I'll call during lunch break or tonight.

Yup, just tell them thank you and have a nice day, just like how you end any phone conversation.

Ok, i was just wondering if there is another "step" right after it. :innocent:

If you know your old alien number, then I'd definitely suggest using it. If not, write "none". Don't write 'N/A' as that question IS applicable.

The same applies to your joint sponsor. If they know their old alien number, have them write it on the form. If not, have them write 'none', not 'N/A', because again, this question is applicable to them.

An alien number is similar to a file number or SSN, but for immigration purposes. It will appear on your visa, and then later on your green card. When you file for I-751 (if married less than two years), I-90 and/or N-400, you'll need to put this number on the forms so USCIS knows who you are. If/When you become a citizen, you probably won't use it anymore, but until then, you'll use it. Not only will you need it for forms, but for opening bank accounts, getting a driver's license, getting your SSN, at work, etc.

Thank you Saylin for your usual help. The reason why I asked is because I was assigned one.......

guys i do not know what amount to put for the current individual annual income

Since it is bi-weekly for me so i put for example: $1000 x 2 x 12 = $24000.

The amount that i calculated was exactly the same amount i got from my Company HR when i asked to put my current annual income on the letter also.

If you've been assigned one, then use it on all the forms.

After I got denied the first time at the border, I was assigned an Alien number to use on the forms, which is what I did. Oddly enough, once I got my visa, I was issued a new, different Alien number blink.gifheadbonk.giflaughing.gif

I found out a solution. Her employment letter shows her YTD 02/10/2012 was 3244.98 Dollars. To know the total of bi week until this date i 3244.98 / 960 = 3.38 Bi week. Then i take the 23 bi weeks remained X 960 = 22080. At the end, 22080+3244.98= 25324.98 which is almost 26K. i will add 26,100 dollars in the form, does it sound good?

I don't know what you are doing with the math...

take the 3244.98 and divide by 7 since that was the 7th week in the year... which is 456.56 a week. Times that by 45, the number of weeks left in the year= $20,545.20 THIS IS HER ESTIMATED GROSS INCOME FOR 2012 :bonk:

You can round up to the nearest whole dollar, $20,546. Not to the nearest thousand just to make the math work the way you want it to.

You said earlier she grossed $960.00 bi-weekly 960.00/2= 480.00 weekly 480.00*52 weeks= $24,960.00

But going by her letter you stated she had her income is only $20,546.00 for the year.

i am sorry i do not agree with this calculation. February 10th was the 6th week of the year and the number of week left in the year is 46. bi weekly earn is 960. weekly earn is 480. If I'm not mistaken (and I work in finance), you have to use what the documents state as what you've earned, and you can't just use a number out of thin air (which is the 960, you have no PROOF of that - the only way you can use that is if you have proof).

If she's made 3244.98 for the first 7 weeks of the year, you HAVE to divide that by 7 to get 463.57. This is the weekly amount you have to use because your documents can prove this is what she makes. Multiply this by 52 to get your annual, for all weeks of the year 2012. That is what your earnings for 2012 should be. That amount (463.57 times 52) IS 24105.64.

If you have proof of the 960 biweekly, and I mean financial written proof, you can use it. Does this help?
