I found out a solution. Her employment letter shows her YTD 02/10/2012 was 3244.98 Dollars. To know the total of bi week until this date i 3244.98 / 960 = 3.38 Bi week. Then i take the 23 bi weeks remained X 960 = 22080. At the end, 22080+3244.98= 25324.98 which is almost 26K. i will add 26,100 dollars in the form, does it sound good?

Can't wait for Monday to come so i can pay the IV bill and ship the package on Tuesday after it reflects PAID. :innocent:

Exactly :D

I LOVE the way you're thinking! good.gif

Saylin,

So NVC received my AOS packet last Thursday 3/15/12.

Q's

1) Should i call NVC and ask the operator if my AOS packet has been reviewed and accepted? or just wait for checklist if any?

2) if there is no checklist, how will i know if i don't call, will NVC email me?

3) Should i mail my IV packet after being paying? even when it is not showing as PAID? since it usually reflects PAID the next day?

or i should just play it safe and wait for it to reflect PAID.

4) Same as #1, how soon should i call NVC if IV has been reviewed and accepted etc...?

Thank you!

1. Yes, you should be calling every single day and asking for any updates on your case (has the review on the AOS started).

2. No, if you don't call, NVC will not email you. So call to find out if the AOS package has been accepted.

3. Definitely do NOT send the IV package until it shows up as PAID. It's not that it might take a few days, but it might be that the numbers were entered incorrectly and you'll have to repay. This has happened to a few members here this month.

4. Again, give it a day after when the package has been received (find this out through your delivery confirmation), then start calling every single day asking for updates (has the review on the IV started).

Surprised I didn't catch the difference of 2 weeks with multiplying it by 2 (to get the month's salary) then multiplying that by 12 (to get the yearly salary). This makes sense since not every month has exactly 4 weeks. Good catch on your part laughing.gif Not so good on mine headbonk.gif

Follow what Matt said. It's supposed to be $960 x 26. The other equation (960 x 2 x 12) misses two weeks, so one paycheck in your wife's case.

what about my alien number and my joint sponsor's alien number? since i check the first box for US citizen, i'm assuming i don't have to provide my former alien number even if it still exits. once i became a citizen, this is how i identify myself right? Number 19 gives the option to select I am a citizen...then part d says i have an alien number (which, technically i do...do i just leave it blank, or write NA since i do have one and so does my joint sponsor?)

never mind, just called nvc, as long as you are a citizen and have proof you do not need to enter your alien number because you are a citizen.

but the bad news is, that it's been a week and they haven't received our DS3032, i asked if i can resend it she said no because they are running a little behind...well i'm running a little out of my mind~~~~ :ranting::jest: :jest:

If you know your old alien number, then I'd definitely suggest using it. If not, write "none". Don't write 'N/A' as that question IS applicable.

The same applies to your joint sponsor. If they know their old alien number, have them write it on the form. If not, have them write 'none', not 'N/A', because again, this question is applicable to them.

Hi guys,

What is the purpose of an alien # (9 digits)? Thanks

An alien number is similar to a file number or SSN, but for immigration purposes. It will appear on your visa, and then later on your green card. When you file for I-751 (if married less than two years), I-90 and/or N-400, you'll need to put this number on the forms so USCIS knows who you are. If/When you become a citizen, you probably won't use it anymore, but until then, you'll use it. Not only will you need it for forms, but for opening bank accounts, getting a driver's license, getting your SSN, at work, etc.

Have you called as yet? because I've been trying to speak with an operator about the same thing for the last 45 minutes......

Do NOT post the exact same thing twice. It's even worse that it's only been 30 minutes since you posted the original.

I'm really not sure what you're doing with the math. Just take the $960 and multiple it by 26 weeks.

Saylin,

1) If the operator say that my AOS has been reviewed and accepted, then what do i tell the operator?

Yup, just tell them thank you and have a nice day, just like how you end any phone conversation.
