It's the amount she currently makes. Use her most recent pay check stub.

If she gets paid bi-weekly take the gross amount (before taxes) and times it by 2, then times it by 12, and that is her current income for 2012.

OR

you can take her Gross Year To Date (YTD) amount on her check stubs and times it by 8 and that will give you an estimate too.

example:

4,000.00 gross pay for two weeks x2= 8,000.00 monthly gross pay x12= 96,000.00 estimated gross yearly pay.

NVC takes as long as CSC did with our case, I'm gonna be P*ssed.

I would be too if I had your wait! Really hope they pony up with a number for you soon!

USCIS (192 days, August 24 2011 to March 2 2012. No RFE's).
NVC (30 days, March 12 to April 11. Case expedited due to NVC errors).

Montreal US Consulate, awaiting interview date (14 days, April 12 to April 26).

05/09/2012 - medical in Toronto - passed!

Did you imagine it takes 20 days to give a case no.So they are keeping up their promise 10-20 business days. like USCIS did.:(

I really was surprised that we did not have our numbers already. Just based on the cases ahead of ours. Buy hey

There are 52 weeks in a year. If you are paid bi-weekly (once every 2 weeks) you would receive 26 paychecks in a year. So you would take 960 and multiply it by 26 to get the annual salary. Also, remember to use the gross pay (amount before taxes and other deductions) when calculating annual salary.

Surprised I didn't catch the difference of 2 weeks with multiplying it by 2 (to get the month's salary) then multiplying that by 12 (to get the yearly salary). This makes sense since not every month has exactly 4 weeks. Good catch on your part laughing.gif Not so good on mine headbonk.gif

Follow what Matt said. It's supposed to be $960 x 26. The other equation (960 x 2 x 12) misses two weeks, so one paycheck in your wife's case.

Jeez, the operators at NVC are the most impatient people I have ever spoken to.

This one lady would answer my question, then immediately sputter out frantically, "OKAY? OKAY? OKAY?"

I know the call load is high, but so are customer service rep jobs for all

major companies. Sorry, had to vent.

Yes they are. by now you should be an expert of guessing if a rep is nice or grumpy by listening to their opening phrase and the tone of their voice.
