now you have me worried about the none's and N/A's. Must all the blanks have none or NA on them, I mean there are a lot of balnks, if the question such as 24 for example asks you to list other people in household, i write none, but do i write none on all four lines given or just none on the first line for name, relationship and current income of 0. Also for part e, even though i don' tneed it, do i put NA or none for the name, or just leave it blank????

same for part 6, u can choose options a, b, c or d. Only a applies, but there are a lot of blanks left for b, c and d...

You only put None for the first blank.DOnt write none for relatioship/dob etc.Part 6. if only a aplies for you than you dont put anything on b,c,e becoz you didnt put any checkmark on it.Leave b,c,e Blank

re-reading the first two pages again and again and comparing them to the online checklist by USCIS which clearly states:

"For ALL sponsors:

A copy of your individual Federal income tax return, including W-2s for the most recent tax year, or a statement and/or evidence describing why you were not required to file. Also include a copy of each and every Form 1099, Schedule, and any other evidence of reported income. You may submit this information for the most recent three tax years , pay stub(s) from the most recent six months, and/or a letter from your employer if you believe any of these items will help you qualify."

this is saying that we need BOTH, VJ is saying we need either or, not both, if I include only the 2010 W2's along with the tax return transcripts, it won't hurt right? Which are the correct instructions?

i´d prefer the tax transcripts too. less papers ;)

Exactly :D

Thanks Saylin! :)

You're welcome!

Can't wait for Monday to come so i can pay the IV bill and ship the package on Tuesday after it reflects PAID. :innocent:

I LOVE the way you're thinking! good.gif

just like the I-130 and other USCIS forms, none or NA is applicable, that is why they give both as options. i think this is the last of your concern :-)

There is a big difference between none and N/A...

Hello guys....I know this question may have been asked already however. Can I use the I-864EZ form? I am the only beneficiary and my husband is the only sponsor, and he is using is current salary only. I am trying to decrease my margin for error, by using a form with the least questions..lol..Thanks

If you're eligible, then yes, you can use the I-864EZ. I'd actually suggest to everyone if you're eligible, then use it. It's a much shorter form and easier to fill out. That's what my husband did (or what I made him do :D )

Saylin, I promise I read and re-read all your stuff, it just all blurs together sorry for re-asking, with that being said, my package is ready to go, here's the cover letter, hope everything is copacetic:

...

ready for the post office!!!

Looks good! good.gif Just one addition: in your list, make sure you mention the bar-coded cover sheet as the first item yes.gif

Has anyone sent their DS-3032 Choice of Agent form via regular mail lately? It seems that most are choosing to send it via email and it is taking about a week or so for NVC to process it and generate the IV bill. I'm planning to send my I-864 AOS via USPS overnight, so I was thinking I could include the DS-3032 at the same time. Is it possible they are processing regular mail faster than email?

If you do want to mail the DS-3032, you can't include it with the AOS. The AOS and DS-3032 go to different departments. Unfortunately, they'd have to be mailed separately. And I haven't seen anyone mail it in recently, but I'd expect it'd take a week or so, the same amount of time NVC takes to processes the AOS/IV packages. I'd suggest just emailing it and saving on the postage and envelope.

re-reading the first two pages again and again and comparing them to the online checklist by USCIS which clearly states:

I know, there's an error in that part of the form. But trust me, just sending tax transcripts is fine (unless you filed jointly, then you need to include W2s to show individual income). The tax transcript is the same thing as the tax return and W2 but in a much neater fashion, and is approved by IRS, as they've processed your tax return and made sure there were no errors. Please, order the tax transcripts and just send those in. That is what my husband did and we had no problems, just like hundreds before us.

Well, you can either send both, or trust all the other members here who tell you their package was approved with the tax transcripts alone. Anyway, all the information you wrote in your 1040 IS on the tax transcript. Saylin has helped hundreds of members go through the NVC, and for over a year now she's never seen anyone being requested to send 1040s or W2s if they had sent transcripts (the contrary however, happened recently).

Now for your questions about the forms, you might find the example forms here on VJ extremely helpful. They saved us from a few mistakes we were going to make.

Hey people i am currently filing I-864 form, in the Part 5- Sponsorr's hoursehold size, the question 21 says : Add together lines and enter the number here. Household Size: What is the number i cna put? my wife has her son and her sister that she recently filed tax with. Will the number be 4?

Yes, the household size would be four in that case. So, it'd be like this:

a - 1

b - 1

c - 0

d - 1

e - 1

f - 0

g - 0

h - 4

Well, you can either send both, or trust all the other members here who tell you their package was approved with the tax transcripts alone. Anyway, all the information you wrote in your 1040 IS on the tax transcript. Saylin has helped hundreds of members go through the NVC, and for over a year now she's never seen anyone being requested to send 1040s or W2s if they had sent transcripts (the contrary however, happened recently).

Now for your questions about the forms, you might find the example forms here on VJ extremely helpful. They saved us from a few mistakes we were going to make.

Exactly good.gif The tax transcript has the SAME information from the tax return, plus if there were mistakes, IRS has fixed them. A copy of a tax return could be FULL of mistakes or incorrect numbers, whereas a tax transcript is only available after a tax return has been processed and accepted by the IRS. And that's the reason (besides being less papers), NVC prefers tax transcripts over tax returns and W2s.

If you read the instructions on the I-864W, it talks about the CCA, and if your son is eligible, then yes, he'll become a US citizen immediately upon entry. Remember, you'd also have to file an I-864 for your spouse.

Um, c is asking about your spouse... d is asking about dependent children.

Wait, are you using the I-864 or I-864EZ?
