Five months yet no IMBRA RFE

Hi All,

My recieve date for I-129F (K3) was May 4, 2006. I have been waiting for the IMBRA RFE to come in the mail so that eventually the visa gets approved. Nothing has come so far. Last time the case was touched was on August 26. Does anyone have any suggestion on what I can do? I live in Texas.

In desperation, I have tried calling the USCIS hotline, but there is nothing they can tell me.

The best thing you can do is contact your state senators or congressman. Start by finding their websites and download the privacy form - usually under "constituent services". Fill it out with your case information and fax to their office. Call to follow up and ask for the name of the case worker, email and direct phone number so you have a way to follow up.

If you do a search here you will also find several good "form" letters to use when writing a letter to the senator or congressman. You can also use Gary C's posted timeline as proof that people who filed long after you already received their RFEs and approvals. If one senator's office is not familiar with IMBRA or doesn't seem interested in helping you, move on to the next - no need to waste your valuable time educating them, in my opinion. Also don't waste your time with USCIS. Best of luck.

They seem to have found a lost stack of applications this week, ours and other old files were there, maybe yours too.

We just got the RFE e-mail last night, and other March member (MrLonely) without RFE got his on Monday, so maybe they'll send yours this week too....I think I saw another May NOA1 member's post about an RFE today, so hopefully your file is in this batch too.

Kitkat's advice is right on, we contacted our senator and our congressman and also the customer service number, not sure which one worked but it doesn't hurt to try.

I was in the same situation as you.. everyone getting the RFE but me!

Finally, I called my congress lady. Her staff calle USCIS and they finally sent me and the congress ladies staff the RFE.

I returned the RFE but nothing has happend since.
