I'm going to make some enemies now.... :dead:

I had Tim Hortons coffee while waiting in an airport earlier this week. And it was terrible! I tried it at another Tim Horton's in another city too - still terrible! Both were weak and flavourless. Are the Tim's in Montreal and Ottawa peddling poor quality coffee, or am I just not meant to board the Timmy Love Train?

Their new breakfast bun thing was DELISH though!

guess it depends where you get it. My cousin said he stopped at a Timmy's in Ohio once and it was disgusting, like the coffee had been sitting for over an hour on the burner. Maybe some shops make it weaker than other shops do, for whatever reason (cost cutting prob).

I went to a Hardee's here in NC once for coffee, and it tasted like someone had just waved a coffee bean over a pot of hot water. It was gross. I dumped it in the garbage.

I've found the Tim's in Michigan ( except the tried and true Tim's by the Bluewater) to be of significantly poorer quality than those in Canada.

Just started my K3 but I know I'll miss ketchup chips and also items that DON'T contain HFCS (high fructose corn syrup). I think that's it.

That and provincial healthcare...

Agreed.

This, to many, is a subjective topic. No need to be all insulting and what not. Timmys is a unique flavourful blend and when comparing it to say Country Style or Dunkin, well.. there isn't any.

There are a couple of components that Timmys has little control over, one being the water used to make it and the other being the idjut behind the counter.

In defense of Timmy's....I brew my own. My sweet mother in law sends me a can every so often. The Timmy's I've visited in NS was absolutely incredible! YUMMMMMMMMMMMM! I'm sure there are some shops that practice the art of saving a dime, and it's sad if they do. Brew your own I say. Best damn coffee I've ever had!!!!

I do love timmys, but have had some pretty crappy Timmys as well. Crappy enough to walk back intothe store and ask for another cup!!

Canadians Visiting the USA while undergoing the visa process, my free advice:

1) Always tell the TRUTH. never lie to the POE officer

2) Be confident in ur replies

3) keep ur response short and to the point, don't tell ur life story!!

4) look the POE officer in the eye when speaking to them. They are looking for people lieing and have been trained to find them!

5) Pack light! No job resumes with you

6) Bring ties to Canada (letter from employer when ur expected back at work, lease, etc etc)

7) Always be polite, being rude isn't going to get ya anywhere, and could make things worse!!

8) Have a plan in case u do get denied (be polite) It wont harm ur visa application if ur denied,that is if ur polite and didn't lie! Refer to #1

and customer service, especially in retail. I am so sick of being ignored when I walk into a store and feeling like i am inturrupting thier mportant gossip session to ask for assistance. i have also been battling one company to exchange a pair of clogs I bought in AUGUST. Insane, customer is always right/ not here...here they just ignore you!!!

I agree, I don't drink coffee and a donut is a donut. The odd time I've gone with a friend or my parents to a Tim Hortons (because it was on the way somewhere), I've just had a regular average donut. So definatly not anything I care about.

One other thing I miss is the non-pitted black olvies. I don't like the Kalamata ones, just the regular black olives in a can with the pits in them. Here they are all pitted...

I don't like Krispy Kreme either... I have been there once and have no idea what the fuss is about...

It seems around here in the LA area at least that the best donuts are at these little places that sell fast food Chinese food and donuts :thumbs: At least that is my experience...

The black olives I can't find are the ones in the can that are unpitted. I've seen all the types at the salad bars in grocery stores, but those are generally the kalamatta. In Canada, they have the same can brand as here, with the pits in them which I actually enjoy eating more (I'm strange)...
