About two-three weeks after we met, we were our way home from Wacken and we got stuck in traffic. Suddenly, my husband jumped out of the car, ran across a couple lanes of traffic, and picked the sunflower that was blooming next to the divider. He then ran back to the car and gave it me with a kiss.

We now celebrate our anniversaries with sunflowers. :star:

My husband is my teammate in everything. He's always so happy, so genuinely optimistic that's it's difficult to be around him and not feel it. He can always makes me laugh even when I'm so mad at him :innocent: . I love how he can see the bigger picture in life. He marches to the beat of his own drum and creates his own path in life even when people try to persuade him to follow the well travelled one.

In short, he's everything to me. I love him so much and am dying for the day when heartbreaking airport goodbyes are finally in the past.

I am the petitioner.

He is a very thoughtful person, and he constantly surprises me even after 5 years of being together. He always knows when something is wrong and exactly how to make me feel better. The other day I was feeling particularly homesick, but I don't like complaining about it all the time because being whiney just doesn't help anything. He figured it out anyway - took off work early, and surprised me with movies and my favorite sweets. :star: He is also very patient - he taught me Spanish and is always the level-headed one, even during arguments.

Plus, he's pretty cute. :P Can we all show off our hubbies here? I'm totally for it.

First, my dog (God rest his soul)......

I love my dog because he's NOT perfect. He' has a funny nose. He has a funny face, He has a fuzzy tail. He doesn't comprehend what I'm talking about. He's retarded. I love him because he's NOT perfect.

But when I talk to him, he gives me undivided attention. He's loyal. He'll go to the ends of the Earth with me. He's always there for me. He's my best friend.

Now, my wife.....

ditto...
