Since I escaped a near heart attack today then never again

My mom got her visa approved today but not before she nearly gave me a heart atttack. So my mom was supposed to go for her rescheduled interview today after she missed the January date. I decided I was going to be on top of her movement and not leave it to chance like the last time. 0145 am loca time ( 0745am Nigeria time) I woke up and called her . she states they ( she and my younger brother) were just leaving the house so I said "good let me know when you arrive the embassy". Her appointment was for 10am.

I called 45mins later ( 0830) to learn she was still just 3mins from the house at the bustop. At this point I start yelling on the phone which made her take a cab :angry: .

She is cleared in at 0950 am and walks out 1140 to state she has been approved but then she was not given my original documents :wow: . I asked her to go through her file again and she stated she already did that several times. Worst of all the security personel at the gate would not allow her in a second time. I asked her not to leave the embassy until we get to the root of this as I need that document for a lot of dealings especially with US immigration . I started a string of emails and calls to the IV and ACS sections to lodge complaints. I finally get to a human at the ACS ( American citizen Service) and the nice guy took the case number and promised to contact the IV section. Few minutes later my mom calls me back to state the embassy staff went searching her file inside and when they could not locate the Birth certificate, they called her to inform her that and so she looked again in her folder and saw the Original Birth certificate :o . I had to send a thank you/apology emails to the consulate. I guess she got carried away with excitement.

In all I thank God for his Mercies and answers to prayers.

01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).
01/28/2013: Case complete!!!
04/19/2013: Interview; APPROVED!!!!!
05/13/2013: POE; JFK

N-400: (3 months and 12 days)
Filed N-400 : 2011-06-17
Interview: 2011-09-27
Oath Ceremony: 2011-09-30

IR-5 for Mom Entire process took 5 months exactly
USCIS (22days)
mailed I-130 : 2011-09-30
NOA 1: 2011-10-03 (text & email)
NOA 2: 2011-10-25 (text and email)
NVC: (19 days)
Case entered and # assigned: 2011-11-18
NVC Case COMPLETED: 2011-12-07 ( 43 days from NOA 2 and 65 days from NOA 1)
Interview Date(Lagos): 2012-01- 23 Mom was late for interview
New Interview date: 2012-02-29 : VISA APPROVED

Congrats to you and your mom!!! I could only imagine the joy and relief you are feeling at this moment. All things happen in Gods time, everything that has happened thus far was meant to happen for today's victory!!!! Congrats! Congrats! Congrats! and to your mom Welcome to the States :)

I know :D . It is rare to get anyone to attend to phone calls there. Then for them to immediately go searching for it and called her while she was outside.
