Ya mexico pays a special fee and does very different things. The IV fee for Canada is not payed at NVC nor is the interview booked at NVC.

yes you do call the NVC but you don't talk to the automated voice machine it never has the K-1 information. You have to speak to an operator and physically ask for your case number and your case status.

Maybe it was not your question but you are freaking out for no reason - you are also not understanding the process of what goes on and reading the guides - flow charts and instructions will help you to understand what you need to do and what is going on.

This is not the way you should be calling them that is only for spousal visas - K-1 information never shows up on the AVR voice system. You have to speak to an operator if you are wanting to call to get your case number.

I called, got someone after about 10 mins, which I was expecting more wait time haha, but I got my MTL # and they sent out my package yesterday, so should receive it soon hopefully so I can start. Thank you for posting the MTL link, I didn't know there was a fee for the interview I thought we were all done with $$$, except for the Permanent Resident thing at the end..

I wasn't trying to be rude, but the last time I had posted a question, I had someone who was rude to me, I'm here for help, like most people. You might have done this years ago and tired of repeating, but were just as much noobies as you were... patience.

Yes but difference is all the information is available and people just are not reading and researching their own case issues.

Also if you weren't aware of the interview/visa fee - take a look at the AOS guides because that is $1070 after you marry.

Then there is ROC which happens 2 years after the AOS and it costs another heafty fee..

then you have to pay a fee every 10 years to renew your green card or pay a fee and do the stuff to become a US naturalized citizen.

This process is HUGE people really need to read up and get the information for their cases. Nearly every day theres " omg i didn't know i had to file ROC " or "omg i didn't know i had to pay for this too " All the info is on here in the guides and the regional forums and on the USCIS website.

I agree...old fashion reading is no longer in vogue ever since the "smart" devices came on stream...
